Jones at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center
Played On 11/19/2022Nice corse let down by poor facilities
Very pretty course but the club house looks like a 1950s bunker with poor access. We got sandwiches from the on course cart person who was very nice but the sandwiches were literally from a convenience store (we saw them later) and were mushy white bread ham and cheese.
The course was in decent shape for the time of year and greens rolled true.
We booked at a discount rate. Staff were very friendly but they sent out a foursome ahead of us at the 10th and pace of play went to a standstill.
St. Lucie Trail Golf Club
Played On 11/16/2017best conditioned course on our trip
we played after torrentil rains over the previous few days so it was cart path only. Despite the conditions the greens were beautifull and fairly fast. Staff was friendly and we were able to play on a nearly empty golf course. The price listed is the official price, we got a discount through a member. The course has a few challenging holes but is not excessively punishing and there are no surprises. This was one of our favorites of our trip..
Crane Watch Club
Played On 11/15/2017nice course but ir was soaked that day
We had tried to play here two days earlier but were rained out after 4 holes. They were very amenable to give us a raincheck so we came back 3 days later. The course was still soaked from continuig rain and they eventually closed it. However we go our round in despite the soggy conditions and everyone at the course was accomodating. The layout is not punishing and the course, despite the bog was well maintained. grees were fairly flat and moderate speed.
Jensen Beach Golf Club
Played On 11/10/2017good value but they could invest in the place
We found the pro shop and dining facilities to be pretty basic and skipped our usual beer and lunch because of the loud musice and boisterous foursome nearby. The course layout is interesting but there are several blind shots from the blue tees and the maps on the cart GPS don't seem to scale. The tee boxes had very little grass on them, maybe it was a seasonal thing. Greens were fairly flat but in good condition. Lastly, Google GPS brings you to the locked back gate of the development. all things considered I think I we will play elsewhere in future.
The Habitat Golf Course
Played On 11/19/2016Bare bones experience but a nice layout
according to the people we played with, the course is under new management and they seem to be on a budget. The layout is nice if a little short at about 6,000 yds from the blue tees. We played on a Saturday but there was no starter or anyone at the bag drop. We couldn't hit balls because they were about to collect them and the tractor doesn't have a cage. The course hasn't seen water iiiin a long time but the greens were in good shape. for the price it was a good deal but not a high level experience. It was right net door to a local airport so it was noisy and planes were taking off overhead.
LPGA International - Hills Course
Played On 11/15/2016a real challenge
the course was advertised as having fast greens and they were fast but looked slow with top dressing. But they didn't break the way the speed suggested, must be the grass. Pace of play was painful, we teed off at 12:18 (actually waited on the tee at 12:18), the group behind us barely finished before dark.
Much more interesting than the Jones course and much tougher. Lots of forced carries from the white tees. Not a walking course. Beautiful layout.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 11/13/2016as advertised a first class course
We played at 9:15 am and had no one in front of us until the 14th hole. The symetra tour was in town and was saw several women pros. The course is in great shape and the greens were running a little slow because of the dew. The fairways are wide and it's hard to get into trouble unless you hit a horrible shot. It is not a walking course, there are several long rides between holes. The dining room is very nice but understaffed. We would have had lunch outside but they didn't clean off some of the available tables. Food prices were average and the quality was good.
Viera East Golf Club
Played On 11/10/2016surprisingly good
Our initial take on the course was that it was pretty easy but after 5 holes it toughened up. The staff were very friendly but you drop off your bags and handle them yourself. You can take the electric cart into the parking lot however. The course is not really amenable to walking. The restaurant is basic but great value. There were 2 small tournaments ahead of us and apparently a couple of golfers scoring 150+. After 14 holes the pace of play picked up.
