Good Course near airport

This is a good (not great) golf course near the airport which has extremely caring and friendly staff (except waitress/bartender) and good shower facilities before your flight home. It was more difficult for us on a windy day which always seemed to be in our face, but shouldn't be too tough on a calmer day. Bunkers were good and the style is distanced from the greens. 3-star course with 4-star people and amenities.

Favourite in the area

Two couples playing Crooked Cat. Really good golf course in great shape. One of our favourites from an 8-round trip. The ladies preferred this one over Panther Lake because at PL they had trouble approaching many of the greens which needed carry over bunkers. Not here. Crooked Cat seemed to have a few more "target holes" which I like as well.

Great course but too tough for shorter hitters

Two couples playing Panther Lake. Really good golf course in great shape. The guys loved it but the ladies had trouble approaching many of the greens which needed carry over bunkers. They preferred Crooked Cat as a result.
Also ... they give a speech at the beginning about their commitment to pace of play and that you will be warned if you are on a pace slower than 4:10. But then they don't have GPS in the carts which helps pace of play!? Anyway pace was a little sluggish at about 4:25, but we are fine with that for vacation golf.

Best in Class

We avoid the $120+ courses, so this is one of the best in the class we play. Great layout and condition. Along with Southern Dunes and Crooked Cat, was chosen as one of the best from our trip. And priced reasonably. Can't remember a bad hole.

Great Layout at Wigwam Gold

This is a very good and challenging layout at the Gold course at Wigwam. Most holes are right in front of you so that you are aware of the hazards and design of the hole from the tee. Really enjoyable parkland course.
Unfortunately we played on a "cart path only" day which is annoying, but my wife and I took turns carrying our clubs instead. We should have simply ditched the cart right away, course is easily walkable. It was a bit of a beast for my wife at 5800 yards, but fair.

One of the Best PGA West

PGA West Greg Norman may be our favourite of the PGA West courses to play every year and more than once. Although Stadium is probably my favourite, its a little tough to play for the ladies (we are usually two couples on this trip), and although we found a great deal this time, usually its too pricey to play more than once. Norman is priced reasonably and very good deals can be found. We have played it often and conditions have always been perfect, staff have always been friendly, and the overall experience has been fantastic. Every time so far. We also love the waste area design on every hole which defines the fairways and looks spectacular. Very friendly for the ladies.

Lacking

Indian Canyons South Course is a decent enough course but lacking in several areas to warrant the $95 dollars we paid on golfnow. No deals to be found and I monitored for a while. First, you have to pay for range balls. The golf carts don't have GPS. When we pulled up to the range to put our token in the machine there was a maintence guy with hard hat and work boots hitting balls. Maybe I'm a snob but I knew at this point that this was not going to be the same experience we just had the previous 4 days at PGA West Norman, Nicklaus and Stadium, as well as Silverrock ... ALL 4 courses we paid less on golfnow!! That's what bothers me. The fairway bunkers were in terrible condition with hard surface and stones everywhere. Greens were OK. Otherwise the experience was good out on the course. Good design, fun back nine. Its a $55 course though.
