Peoria Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2017Nice round in the sun
We had not played this course in a few years because it wasn't a good value compared to other regulation courses nearby. The front nine is old and can stand some TLC with upgrades to the cart paths and layout but the back nine is in great shape. The swamp on the back 9 has been drained and we were happy to see that go. We got caught behind a foursome on the 6th hole who were apparently new players and that slowed us down quite a bit, but they were very nice. Wifey drove the cart and did not like the pickup. I tried it and it was full speed or nothing so she was right. The café staff seemed a bit overloaded with OTB and the lunch crowd. The pulled pork sandwich was very good. All in all, a nice quiet afternoon playing golf, it just doesn't get any better.
Villa de Paz Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2016Hot course on a hot day
My son and I played on the hottest day of the year so far (114 on the course) but it was a great round as always. We had the whole course to ourselves (or so it seemed) because it was so hot. Staff was great but since there were so few players the concession lady went home early. We have played here before and will be back again. Great place to play.
Great Eagle Golf Club
Played On 11/11/2015The old Roy Rogers "Happy Trails" course
I recommend this course to duffers everywhere. It is one of my home courses and it is in great condition right now. In fact, probably the best I have seen it in years. It was wet and some sand traps had standing water but I'd rather have it wet than bone dry. We had a foursome and played at a good speed (5 hrs with a snack break) but the course was over-booked and we were pushed a lot with no place to go. Lots of "snowbirds" are back in town so we saw a lots of semi-locals (many not very friendly) around. Staff is always super and the price of $23 with a cart after 1030 hrs. was a bargain. So go play, just be prepared to play a bit slower than you might want if u are a a low handicapper.
Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park
Played On 07/17/2015An old facility in need of upkeep
We played as a 3some today and didnt expect too much for the $15 green fee. The course was extremely dry, in MANY places it was like hitting off concrete. The restrooms and cart paths are in need of renovation. The course cart paths are a challenge to work thru, as they often start and stop for no reason. We stopped for lunch and received COLD hotdogs and when we asked for ice we were told we could only have one scoop for the cart. The deli staff was not nice and even told us when we checked in that she might be closing early. Our guess was she did not want to be at work today. The old water fountains that havent been used in years are still sitting around. While this course may have been great once it has apparently fallen on hard times. The best part of the round was the proximity to the mountains with tons of road-runners and hawks over-head
Hi "NJmike71" We apologize for the many issues that you endured on this particular day. The course was recently taken over by new management. We are working to resolve many of these issues day by day with time. As for the restaurant, the ice machine was broken on this day and was in the process of being fixed, which is the reason for the limited ice in the grill room. We apologize for these issues, and we hope that you will give us another try in the near future.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2015Stay on the fairways
The wife and I played this course a couple years ago and enjoyed it a lot. We did not remember many of the holes so it was more difficult than we remembered. I lost twelve balls to the desert landscaping. She of course hit it on the farway for the most part and had an easier time of it. Maintenance on a couple holes was a challenge, and they know to duck when we were hitting. We let many single players play thru rather than slow them down. Restrooms were immaculate and the staff is always super. A couple holes needed a bit more water, but it hasnt rained in months so overall the course was in pretty good condition. We had a good time, so go play.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We truly value what our customers say. Come tee it up again soon.
DRY
This was our first time playing Bellair GC. The course has only one problem right now, it is DRY!!! Fairways are like concrete and pin placement on the dry super fast greens was a sure missed putt. Overall it is a nice round of golf at a reasonable price. I hope to play it again after over-seeding and watering.
Arizona Traditions Golf Club
Played On 7/17/2013A hot course
The Arizona Traditions in Surprise was a hot value on a literally hot afternoon at 103 degrees and 25% humidity (July 17, 2013). Great fun at a great price!! The course was immaculate, not a brown patch to be seen anywhere. Now that is unusual for AZ this time of year even on the expensive courses. The course is a challenge if you aren't familiar with it (my 2nd round) or have a GPS locator, and some of my mistakes turned out to be better shots. Had a great time. Go play!!
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 3/22/2013course is overbooked
While the course is in pristine condition, you'll have to decide if 6 to 8 hours is too long to play a 6200 yard course. The course is often overbooked creating backups throughout. This last outing had 3 foursomes waiting at the 7th tee box. The good points are the GPS locators on every cart and the super-friendly staff (thanks Doug) who will meet you in the parking lot to carry your bag.
