Great Course

Course was great. Nice visuals throughout course. In a nice neighbourhood, scenic backdrop of city skyscrapers, palm trees and water features. Has driving range, restaurant and proshop. Course is flat and walkable. Greens for me were a little tricky. A little faster than average, and has undulations but putts didnt really break that much on that day. THere are a few holes that have doglegs. My only concern was there were a few holes which had tee boxes were located closely behind greens so someone playing behind you could hit into your group if they over hit the green. Par 3 seemed to be a little long for people who golf the forward tees.....about 150yd.. Enjoyed playing this course.

Love this course

Golfed here back in 2009, got my first hole in one on the 11th hole. Course still in excellent condition, friendly staff, has proshop and restaurant. Fairways had slight undulations, lots of elevations, greens were terrific. Greens were a little faster than average, had some undulations. Tons of saguro cactus. Hitting fairways and greens will make game easier but missing fairways and overshooting greens will probably result in a penalty and lost ball. You will see and perhaps find lots of lost balls but many cannot be accessed due to dense brush or prickly bushes. Price is a little more than other courses but worth it in my opinion. Everyone i have talk to who has golfed there agree that it is a great course. Not a great course to be walking, best to use a cart due to the elevation changes.

Nice Course, well maintained

Friendly staff, course in good condition and painted mtn nicely framed in background as pictured on the site. There are some challenges with water, bunkers and trees. Greens were average speed and good condition. They have a concession at the turn that was speedy, proshop but there is no driving range. For myself, driving range is a must as I work out any immediate issues before my round.....fairways are average width.

Price is Right

Popular executive 18 hole course. I am sure their fees are quite affordable but our rounds were included in our accomodations where we stayed. They have a driving range, a restaurant, and proshop. Very friendly staff, and the course was surprisingly in good condition. The pace is slow, even when we booked early (730 am). I recommend that you play as a 4some otherwise you will be waiting at every tee box. 4 some works out well and that keeps you flowing with the pace of play. If you dont have a 4 some, try to get them to put you into a group of a 4some. greens seemed to be a little slower than other courses, Very playable and easy to play. 18th hole would be their signature hole in which you can risk hitting over the water or play safe and hit a fairway away from the water hazard, I found that ordering food at the turn took longer than it should have as I only ordered a hotdog......and waited about 15 minutes......we lost our turn for the back nine. Tried to phone and order ahead but there was no answer...... Great little course to practice you shots for larger more difficult courses....very forgiving. We enjoyed playing it multiple times. Can be easily walked if you choose to do so.

Great course

Great course for all types of golfers. Not over challenging and course was in pretty good shape. pretty good fairways and nothing too challenging around the greens. It was a quick round and we finished 30 minutes ahead of time.. It was during the extreme heat wave so perhaps that may have contributed to the pace pf play. Course can be walked and i might even recommend it if your are able to do so as the fairways are very bumpy when riding in a cart. Just the way the course is I reckon.. Greens roll fairly true and even when you think there is a small break in the green, quite often it goes straight. Enjoyed the course, and restaurant was pretty good.

Challenging Course

Very nicely looked after course. It was during the week of the extreme heat wave in B.C.where temps were 40 c plus or 104 f or greater. The fairways are fairly wide, some holes challenging with protected bunkers and water. I found the 1st cut very challenging if you got into it. The ball sinks into the grass and when you try to hit it out it is very grabby. The greens are also very challenging as the undulations in the green made it really difficult to read the greens and the greens were quite fast. Perhaps it was the extreme heat that made it more difficult to play because of fatigue or heat exhaustion but such hot weather is not typical for the Province of B.C. Trees line the fairways so keeping the ball in the fairway is essential . I think if it was cooler weather it would have been a better round for our group as everyone was feeling the heat at the end of the round.

Just ok.....

We played the twilight time which starts at 330. The rate was cheaper and more affordable . Played as a twosome and since there was nobody ahead of us, we were able to get our 18 holes in 2.75 hrs. They require the golf carts to be returned to the club by 630, which is ok if you don't have slow players ahead of you.....it can be done if you just play " ready" golf...if your ready just hit the ball regardless of whose turn it is and you may be able to get 18 holes in 3 hours.

I did happen to golf a good game but the course has a lot of undulations on the fairways and some large undulations and tiers on the greens which can be intimidating. The worst part were the greens which appeared to be in poor condition. Blotchy and bare in areas which made it difficult to putt. Lots of dog leg fairways and blind tee shots.

Houses line many of the fairways so if your slicer, hooker, you might hit a house. Did not notice any cart girls on course. Cantina., pacos tacos serves great food.

I felt for the money, it was not worth the value mainly due to the poor conditions of the greens, and that was at the twilight rates..... If I paid the regular rate which is just under 100.00, I would be really upset for paying that amount for the greens that were in such poor conditions.

Good, bad and the ugly.

Overall pretty good course. It is challenging and requires some target golf and course management. I am a higher handicapper, 1st time playing this course and 1st time playing this year and I still managed to par a few holes.
I decided to stick with a 3 wood instead of driver to minimize hazard issues from wayward drives. Greens roll fairly true and are pretty good shape.

Great driving range, they have a restaurant but never tried the food yet. bathrooms available but no sink in the bathrooms and more upkeep needed as they were smelly. Golf carts were nice, nice paths to drive on, good signage, friendly staff.. We will purchase a multiplay card to save a few dollars on our rounds.

Awesome lil course.

Great little course with great value for the money. Has driving range, restaurant, and carts available but can be walked easily enough. Wide fairways, average greens, and couple of nice views of ocean. Cash only facility. I recommend to anyone good or bad golfers. Restaurant has great menu and food.....go for the food if you don't golf.

Awesome Course

The location of this course is further up Verrado Way, past the Founders course, past the indian school rd. straight through the round about and you will see the clubhouse to the right.
Great practice range and putting green .

They just finished their seeding program so it was cart path only....that sucked. Made pace of play a little slow. Took 4:45 to play 18. But the fairways and greens were in excellent condition.

Unlike the desert surroundings of the founders course, this course has a manmade rock and boulder surrounding. Fairways and some greens are undulating, and there are risk reward tee boxes.

Fairways were generous, greens were a little slow but for the most part very straight.....even on putts that look like they should break, they didn't or did very little. Greens were average size but lots of false fronts and backs, some guarded by bunkers so you want to try to land in the middle most times.

Water stations at odd number holes and cart girl was very quick. She had food as well such as hotdogs. Better to get the hotdog from the cart girl as the grille at the turn was really slow....they need to improve that for golfers who want a quick bite at the turn.

We loved this course and look forward to golfing it again on our next holiday to Phoenix.

Bad game, good course

Firstly, I didn't golf a very good game here but it was all swing mechanic issues I was not able to fix that day. The fairways are wide and generous so there should be no excuse not to hit the fairway even if your a little off.... I played that poorly.

The course was being prepped for overseeding so the fairways and greens were fast and a little messy. Tis the time of year so understandable.
The tee times were running a 1/2 hour behind due to a course management issue so pace of play was slower than expected.

The course layout is great, and there were water stations along the way. Nice driving range and great putting practice areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. A course I would like to have another crack at to prove to myself I can do better.

Best course we've played this trip.

This is a golf holiday for us and so when we golf at different courses, we end up golfing with locals and we ask what courses are good to golf at. We always get the same answers for the same courses but no one ever mentioned Silverado. This is a hidden gem, diamond in the rough that people just do not know about I reckon.
We got an early morning tee time, the weather was perfect. Cart path only this day, but it was the last day for cart path only and the day after would allow travel on the fairways.
Fairways are lush, fairly generous, greens roll true and were slower than most greens we have played thus far..... Very nice water features, pretty sandy bunkers, and water stations are located along the way.
There were 2 or 3 tee boxes are located 100 yrds away and the signage to find these tee boxes could be better, luckily we were playing with people who have golfed it before otherwise we would have no idea where the next tee box was. So, this is not a course to walk, carts only.
One missing feature that I really miss was a driving range....I need a good warm up to work out pre game issues, all the offer is a warm up net.
Will golf this course again....

Pleasantly surprised

I was surprised about this course. It was a better fit for me to play from the blue tees but generally I play from whites. Course was in pretty good condition, par 5 were quite far, 1 long par 3. If you keep drives in the middle of fairways, you will have a better opportunity at hitting the greens. Trees and water hazards seemed to be the main hazards that get you into trouble. Pace was a little slower. No water stations but cart girl will provide container with ice to keep beers cold. 11th hole has snack shack...Chicago dog is tasty. Fairly flat and can be walked but it was hot out there and no water stations....cart was better for us.... The greens rolled pretty true and were not super fast like other courses we have played but there are some undulating slopes that can make some putting a challenge. Most clientele appeared to be beginner to intermediate types. It was a better course that I envisioned it would be and enjoyed my round.

tight

Proshop had good sales on stuff and restaurant looked nice, but pricey. Course has lots of hazards that require course management and target golf. Fairways were fast, greens were also fast but rolled true. Some fairways seemed tight to other fairways which was a distraction as I was keeping an eye out for errant shots from other golfers.. there were a few shots that landed near us at our tee box. Pace of play was pretty good up until the last few holes. Carts had GPS, watering stations were present at many holes. Definitely a tighter course, and I wish I could have hit something off the tee straighter to help myself out. I know I could have golfed better if I had better tee shots. Driving range were irons only.....I the type that needs a driver warmup. I would not recommend this course to a beginner golfer as this course is not that forgiving on bad shots. Even though I golfed poorly this day, I would golf this course again and recommend this course to my intermediate golf friends.

Great City Course

We decided to get an early morning tee time (6:32 am) and it was awesome. The course fairways were very dry but they were shutting down in a day or two for overseeding. The greens were punched probably a week prior but putting on the greens were surprisingly pretty good. There are some challenges on the course, some holes had narrower fairways, others had hazards that required target golf. Bunkers are like cement also there were no rakes for them. Their concession was closed, and they do not have any ice because of permit issues. Overall great value and enjoyable course. 16th hole par 3 had a gallery watching us tee off. Roadrunner and bunny.....

Founders Course

Formerly Raven at Verrado a few years back, but changed name to Verrado Golf Club. Great course, friendly staff. Really nice cart paths, numerous water stations, awesome scenery, wildlife to be seen. The course was in great condition, maybe a little on the dry side and the greens were a little quick..... some holes requiring target golf, some holes with elevation changes, others offering generous fairways.
Weather was sunny all day, 90 plus temp. Pace of play was excellent, in fact we didn't wait once that round, dress code, clientele appeared to be golf savy and friendly. Great restaurant to eat meals. Guest service staff clean your clubs afterwards and cart gals were attentive and had great drink specials. Proshop at this time had great prices on clothing, and had a good selection of items. When driving from hole to hole, keep eyes posted along pathway desert area as we found numerous high end golf balls. One day on a future visit, i look forward to golfing their new course, the Victory Course. Great value for the money.

nice course

Great little executive course that caters perfectly to my work schedule. Great course for beginners and great course for those needing to tune up or practice their game. Has 5 par 4, 4 par 3 holes. Great walking course but carts available. Popular course on weekends, caters to lots of local company tournements so pace of play can be slow. Restaurant has good menu with a great early golf and breakfast deal. Can be open all year if there is no snow for diehard golfers.

Favorite Course

My favorite course in Kamloops. Great walking course, it is nice and flat. Some fairways look a little dry or damaged from winterkill but still a great course to play. Keep it in the fairway and your game will seem fairly easy, but offline shots may encounter trees, tall grasses, bunkers or water. Pace of play is usually good but as with any course, sometimes it can be slower. No deals to be found from golfnow, little pricey and more so if you take a cart. Rates reasonable if you golf with a member. Clientele is average golf savy type. Clubhouse restaurant is typical with typical menu to cater to golfers appetite.
