The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 11/10/2017Avoid this course until it improves
Played in a 4 ball at 7.42am that cost a little under $250 and what a waste of money it was!! With 2 exceptions, the greens were in very poor condition with many bare patches, broad leaf weeds on some and overall running so slow it was difficult to sink a put. Some were fuzzy and others looked as though they were trying to recover from decease. Unfotunately it did not stop there. Most, if not all tees appeared as though had not been cut for days and many had bare patches and were uneven. To rub salt into the wound, the 11th fairway resembled a ploughed field in parts and was so wet one of our group hit his ball over 200 yds down the middle of the fairway and could not find it because it had plugged and disappeared into what looked like a swamp. It wasn't even marked GUR.
At the end of the round I asked to see the manager to complain and request compensation. I was told he had not arrived at work yet (it was 12.30pm!!) So I left my cell phone number for him to call. It is now 30 hours later and guess what..... he has not had the courtesy to call me back. Not a happy bunny!!

Everything about this course is top notch. Tees, fairways, greens, facilities, landscape, wildlife, I could go on but at the end of the day this challenging but rewarding course should be a "must play" on most visitors calender.

I played this course about 5 years ago and it was well maintained and challenging. So having read some recent reviews which appeared complimentary we decided to give it a go.
Well what a change!! Although still challenging and picturesque, the condition of the course is terrible. Almost all of the tees are overgrown with weeds and often have many bare patches (the black tee on the 11th has mushrooms growing on it!!). Many of the fairways (particularly on the first 9) were very wet and the grass mowers had created ruts and muddy patches. And the greens...... well this club announces itself on the telephone as having the best greens in Polk County. NOT TRUE....... It has the worse greens I have EVER played on!!! Nearly all have bare patches and many have weeds and damage all over them. Where there was grass the ball rarely ran true and were they very slow.
To compound the problem with this course, when we got back to the clubhouse to complain before leaving, we could not find anybody in authority to talk too. To be honest we did not look to hard and we left feeling we had been ripped off by paying $29 for the round.
I will probably never come back.

Played On 07/18/2016Great New Course
Played this course on a recommendation of a friend. When we arrived it was a little off-putting to find the pro-shop and bar is a converted container (with A/C) and the buggy store looks like a long tent. Apparently the course is less than a year old and they have not yet built the Clubhouse.
Having said all this the reception we received from the staff was great and best of all, the course was fantastic. The tees and fairways are well maintained with very few bare patches and the greens are probably the best I have played on this year. They run very true and and are fast! For a course that is just one year old it has the potential to become one of the better courses in the Orlando area,
