From 2 years ago to now

We played the course many times a couple of years ago.
Overall, the condition is better now from tee to green. The tell tale sign a course is too tight is the number of safety nets that are lining the fairway on this course. Beyond that, the layout is pretty good with a mix of interesting holes without being “tricked-up”.
The traps have the most sand I’ve seen at any course in the area.
The staff is always friendly and attentive.

Watch out for the red side

We played red / white. Red is pretty tight. The greens were the best we played on our trip so far - fast and true.
The architect placed the bunkers in all the right spots - no cheating here.
Par 3 hole no. 4 - if you don’t hit the green you’re a dead man.
Excellent value out here. Don’t waste your money on the Ritz or Disney courses

Great Value

Course was in very good shape. We got thru it in 3:10 so pace of play was no issue.
Greens were in very good condition. Layout good - a little tight from the tips in some areas. Bunker sand was in good shape. Would definitely play again!!

Great Course / Great Value

Title says it all. I’ve played all the courses in the area for years except for this one. Played it for the first time about 4 years ago. Maybe it doesn’t have the “wow” factor of Tree Tops or the Tribute, but it is a solid round of golf at a great price. Course is in really good shape, way above what you would think for the price paid. It’s hard to believe this course is almost 100 years old. The layout is timeless. Make time for a good lunch in the clubhouse (good craft beer selection too).

Always a good day at RSC

My wife and I discovered this course 10 years ago because of their marketing slogan (at that time) "Don't let the price fool you". Fast forward to the present, we have played a lot of courses in the area. Royal St. Cloud is still the best value for the money. The course is always full, but we have never experienced a slow round of golf. They do a great job getting everyone out. We've had some very enjoyable rounds being paired up with other folks every time we have played. Love all of the "reminders" at every tee box to fix ball marks and divots....very creative.

Good value / good layout

1st time playing the course. Layout great and fair - nothing tricked-up but with plenty of challenge. Greens great shape, consistent speed and true rolling. The fairways could use a little TLC but wouldn't stop us from playing it again.
We liked the $5 lunch special, a great idea.

Always a good day out there

Challenging with a lot of great golf holes. It's a little bit of a hike from the detroit area, but make the enjoyable ride in the country part of the experience. The course is worth the drive. Staff is very friendly and offers a very good value. I have played this course quite a few times over the years. The condition has pretty much stayed consistant. My only complaint is Pace of play is 4.5 hours minimum. Didn't see a ranger last time out and it was 5 hours. On the other hand, Without starter and ranger, this helps them keep the cost down.

Very Good value

For $40 weekend morning walk on rate, this course along with a lot of the metro park courses are a very good value. You can walk on weekend mornings also, if you like. Course condition was very good, with greens in good shape....no fungus or rough spots. Hole 15 is kind of tricked up, but the rest of the layout is good with a mixture of dog legs and elevation changes.
