My friends had been telling me to go since I movers here in October. Finally got there with my son on the 4th.
It is a Palmer course, so I knew it would be special, we were NOT disappointed!
I will be going back many times.

The course had been recommended to me be several fellow golfers.
Had a chance to play it with my son on July 4th, all that I expected from a Palmer design.

This could be easily resolved by having a Marshall drive through and let the beginners know that golf etiquette requires you allow a group to play through if you have an open hole in front of you with multiple parties backed up behind youI left after 14 holes and 4 hours of waiting.

Passing through the front gate, you drive between most of the front and it’s a GREAT intro.
Friendly and helpful staff, the 1st is a par 5 that gets you going well.
Bunkers are well placed, clean with nice soft sand.
Not much water in play, but I did manage to find it twice.
A surprise on the back is a nice view of Stone Mountain.
I will go back…starting with Father’s Day with my sons!

This is a course that could be really nice.
But the greens are always below expectation. The pace of play was great and the BLT made in the clubhouse is worth the visit.

A very interesting course with a good variety of challenges throughout the track. The 16th green is really pretty daunting, particularly when there is a strong wind in your face.
The only real downside I can identify is that a number of the tee boxes were in pretty poor shape.
Overall a fun course that made me think through a lot of shots.

Significantly better than a number of the private courses in the area, yet priced as a municipal.
Greens in really good shape, play was slower than wanted, but it was Sunday.

I love this for my wife, she does not get discouraged and there are not others rushing her.
It is also improving my short game.
Greens are in very good shape.

Play was a little slow today due to cart path only after all the rains.
My 6th time on the course and I very much enjoy it.

Not a bad course, just many more that are closer to me that play better

While I shave only played here 4 times, I now consider this my go-to course while in Sarasota.
I’ve played early morning, mid morning and late afternoon and the course has been in great shape each time.
Staff is friendly and helpful and players seem to follow etiquette well.
I enjoy the difference between the front (narrow and shorter) and the back (wide open and longer).

This is not the top or even the upper part of the middle of courses available, but it is very accessible for new players, so it has become my “go-to” as I’m bringing new players to a first full course.
The greens are in fairly good shape.
They serve a GREAT BLT in the clubhouse and the meal is part of the deal.

The first time, I was thrown off a bit by the tight fairways on the front. Knowing that the back is open made the 2nd round much more enjoyable, but I actually shot better on the front.
I really enjoy this course and intend to go back a number of times.

A pretty course, lots of water in play.
Interesting greens.
Slow pace of play

The front nine had tight fairways demanding controlled drives and very little water in play.
The back had open fairways but a good amount of water.
I liked the variety!

I played the course in February and found it nice, not great but worth the money.
Today the course was not in good shape at all.
Tee boxes were a mess, greens recovering from being treated, and fairways having had too much water (ok I won’t hold that against them).
Overall I do not expect to return.

Based on other reviews I was expecting a3 star experience.
The course is not top shelf, but it’s a lot of fun. A bit short but plenty of water.
The greens were not in great shape but rolled true.
I was a single, they started me by myself and two parties let me play through so I was done in under 3 hours.
I will play here again.

The Bear had recently been airiated, but even given them a pass on that, conditions were poor.

I had a day off work and had not played this course in a couple of years.
I was pleased with the course, overall it was in good shape. A couple of the greens were rough, but it was late in the day.
The staff was very accommodating, letting me start well before my booked time.
There was a foursome that I ran up to on the second half of the back nine that NO IDEA of golf etiquette; they left traps un-raked, took inordinate amount of time on the green, and did not offer to let me (a single player) play through.
The course could benefit from a marshal.
