Gray Eagle Golf Club
Played On 08/02/2023It’s getting there…
Greens have vastly improved over the years and are in great conditions. Only negative was the “sand” in the traps…need to be raked in morning and real sand to replay whatever they have in them. Overall, the course is pretty darn tough and definitely worth the money. Can’t wait for the new clubhouse to be built.
Los Prados Golf Course
Played On 11/12/2015Typical course meandering thru Vegas community
Course was extremely busy for a Thursday afternoon. There are lots of retired golfers who live and play there. Course wasn't difficult but challenging at times. Can keep the driver in the bag on most holes but I like to grip and rip em! Trouble on some holes, but if straight or somewhat straight, you'll be just fine. Greens were in good shape, except for some unrepaired ball marks. Overall just a typical Vegas course meandering thru a planned golfing community.
Sun Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort

Out in the middle of nowhere is a hidden Las Vegas gem called Paiute. Everything about this place is top notch. Huge clubhouse with stocked pro shop and huge bar area amongst the dining room. Pristine practice area with huge buckets of range balls and chipping and putting greens right there. I've lived in Vegas for over a year now and I can't believe I've waitrd this long to play. There's so many nice courses for locals to play, but this is by far my new favorite. Can't beat the Golfnow price of $29.
The tee boxes were perfectly maintained and clean...not full of divots and uneven areas. Fairways are green and lush. The roughs are kept at a decent length and are a bit of a challenge to hit the perfect shot out thus this keep it in the fairway. The fairways are pretty wide at preferred landing areas.
Now for the greens...best in Vegas. They are large and in immaculate condition. Not full of ball marks but I still fixed those that were left behind. These greens roll so true and smooth...not all bumpy like most overplayed corses around. At the end of September you'd think they'd be full of repaired ballarks but for some reason they heal quickly especially considering how much play these courses get.
The started approached us at the first tee and asked if we'd like to start on the back cuz of a Firestone that had just teed off ahead of us. He went and checked the 10th and came back with an all clear. Glad we did cuz we blazed thru the entire round without seeing or waiting on anyone. This place was packed and yet you get the feel that you've got the course all to yourself. A must play for anyone that values a top notch golf course...a bit of a drive but so very well worth it!
