Outstanding

Wonderful experience. From the minute you come through the gate, you are treated as valued guest. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The course is amazing in layout and condition. The best greens that I have ever played. Can’t wait to put together our trip here next year.

Great course

The course was outstanding. Wonderful condition and nice layout. A few holes could be played much better the second time around as there are some blind landing areas to play the hole well.
.
The only negative was the "Pro" in the shop. Two of us from our foresome arrived about 1.5 hours before our tee time. We had never been to this course and didn't want to be rushed getting warmed up at the range and putting green. We were treated and talked to as though we were stealing his money. He was very rude, didn't ask if we needed to know anything about the course or practice area. This is a private club that will take "guests" on occasion. We were certainly not treated like guests and I would be very discouraged to consider a membership here, even though it is one of the nicest courses within 40 minutes of my home. The young lady working the driving range as well as the person on the beverage cart were both extremely friendly and helpful. If there were to be a next time, maybe I could skip the "Pro Shop"

Great play

Really enjoyed my play at Bali Hai. Wonderful layout. Few areas a little thin sure to hot weather. Very playable. Back nine with significantly longer holes. Would definitely play again if visit Vegas again.

Slow

The course itself is outstanding. The Pro shop staff and restaurant staff were outstanding. The pace of play was excruciatingly slow. Starters were pleasant at the tee but there was no visible attempt to maintain reasonable pace. Saw and heard several groups that were likely keeping the beer industry in the black. One guy stumbling onto the green.

Waited several minutes on every shot of every hole. Groups are scheduled every 8 minutes on both front and back. Way too many people on the course at one time, given that for many fellow golfers, the game can be challenging. I understand the business is to maximize play for profit, however this certainly left us feeling like cattle being herded through their profit machine.
Nice practice facilities, however it is about 200 yards from bag drop, and you can't take your cart. Balls are at a separate building where you buy a 35 ball bucket for $5.
Nice putting and chipping greens. The putting green is on a different side of the clubhouse , that again you can't take your cart.
This and the Parkland course, we played in the morning were in great shape and very nice.
I would love to play these courses again, but not in the current way of managing pace of play. 5 and 1/2 hours for a round of golf with a cart is unexcusable.

Course was nice, on course staff not so much.

First time playing this course, had heard great things about it. Many doglegs on this course which is challenging for first time around. Unfortunately no one in our foursome had played this course before. Conditions were good from tee to green. Greens a little slow from aeration not to long ago.
My 18 year old son and I were paired up with another father and grown son. Behind us were a few twosomes. We let one group go through on a par three as it seemed like the right thing to do. Later on the front nine a ranger asked us to speed it up a bit. We were not setting the course on fire by any means, but were making mostly pars and some bogeys. We were not hacking around nor dawdling around. We finished the front a few minutes over two hours. Not bad for first time on demanding course without local knowledge. The starter was quite unpleasant at the turn, and aggressively indicated that things had to get faster.
I like to play fast, but when pressured to the point of feeling the need to race from one shot to the next, enjoyment oif the round was greatly diminished. We finished the round just over four hours, again not bad for first time on the course.
So overall the course was in my opinion nice but not great. Customer service in the pro shop was very good, but on the course was poor. Don't send out a foursome in front of three twosomes and not expect them to be held up. Would not consider this course if a newer golfer is in the group.
This was the only poor experience we had on any of the courses we played this year on Hilton Head (4 rounds in 6 days). Probably will not look to this course when we come here next time.
