Unbeatable For The Price!

This course is practically unbeatable for the price! I booked thru golfnow and got a killer deal. The ONLY thing that kinda bugged me (at first) was that nowhere did it say "shotgun start"... So when I got there, there were like 50+ people out on the range. It worked out though, I played with two local members and we started on the hole #1. I had a very positive experience here.

This course, for the time of year is in great shape! I mean green, lush and healthy. My only complaint was that the greens were very hard. They didn't hold a whole lot, so the short shots were tough. But being that we just had a really hot summer, its to be expected really.

The course design here is fun. Some fairways require a precise line otherwise you roll down into some pretty deep grassy valleys on either or one side. Its a fun course. Good risk reward situations. I will definitely be coming back next year.

Worth The Splurge!!

Absolutely fantastic golf course!! You have to play this one if you get the chance! Rivals the rest of the expensively hyped courses too. Absolutely great views. Some of the best looking par 3's ive seen.

I normally play golf on a budget, so spending more than $45 is usually tough for me. This one was about $20 north of that and because of a bonus at work the week prior I just went for it. I left with a smile, feeling like I got my monies worth! Comp. range balls. Comp water bottles & good overall service. The course was in absolutely great shape, especially for the time of season. Everything was green and pretty lush. I mean, for mid September after the hot summer we just had, this course was in better shape than most courses are during peak season. I admit, I did my homework before hand and read a lot of the reviews here on golf advisor, a must when travelling to play golf, so I knew it was in good shape prior to showing up. I made the mistake of not doing my research last year when I made my annual trip to Palm Springs (I always go in September) and paid the price.

The views are stunning and the creative layout makes for a great round. I was fortunate enough to play with a local guy who gave me tips and showed me where to play to, etc... we had a great time.

Fire The Greenskeeper!

Today I took advantage of their "play free for your birthday" offer. Im glad thats all it cost me. The course was not in good shape at all. It was beyond dead. The greens were terrible. Most had more dirt than grass. Maybe when wet weather comes it will change the condition, but for now its bordering on goat farm status... Overall not a good track layout in my opinion. Lots of holes where you had to play uphill significantly. Felt like the golf course was an after thought. I just wasn't impressed. 18 finishing hole was pitiful. Plenty of other good courses to play that have been kept up.

I had lunch in their grill/bar area, which was nice. Sandwich was decent. Price was iffy. Staff was friendly. Drinks were refilled often.

Way Overpriced Tourist Course!

WHAT A RIP OFF!!!
Apparently this place used to be good?
Theres a trailer for the clubhouse. The guy behind the counter had no personality and seemed bothered to check us in. The rack rate price was absolutely ridiculous!! $65 a player. While in the pro shop I went on golfnow and booked a "slightly" better rate, but even $48 was too much for this course. Lots of brown fairways. I understand the water shortage, but there's plenty of other courses in the area in good shape. You'd think with what these people are charging to pay here they would be able to pay for the needed water. Rough was very patchy. Track layout had some potential, but overall it was in very poor condition. Bunkers had lots of rocks in them. I just couldn't get over how expensive it was for how poor the course was.

An Average Palm Springs Course

I had a trip to Palm Springs in September. It was hot. Played early to try and avoid what heat we could. One good thing is that the North course gets an extra 45 mins or so of shade before the sun envelops the valley. Overall, I didn't see where all the rave reviews came from... The course seemed quite average for me. Narrow, as are most courses in Palm Springs. Dry with tons of roll, as are most courses in Palm Springs. This course had a decent layout though, ill give them that. I don't have any complaints per-say, I just expected a lot more I think. Dang internet... Single biggest complaint. Yardage markers. Most are almost completely covered in grass (if there is one at all). My GPS was very spotty out there. not sure if it was because of the mountain or just Palm Springs in general. A little frustrating at times. Also, when I played a lot of the bunkers were being worked on. Many didn't even have sand in them.

I Don't Understand The Hype

I wanted to play Oak Valley, but they were over seeding at the time. I hadn't played here before, but it had been recommended by a couple people I know as well as had good reviews online. I stopped here to play 18 on my way out to Palm Springs. I guess since its the only track in the area thats worth anything people have a high opinion of it? If this is your local course, great. Its a decent course. I wouldn't be complaining too much either if it were mine. Just as a traveling golfer it definitely did not live up to the hype. Lots of brown patches. And I get it, we're in a drought & it's been very hot, but some of them don't seem to make sense. In front of the greens there's dead patches? Maybe I'm being overly picky, but I wasn't impressed. The course seemed similar to Sierra Lakes in Fontana, only Sierra Lakes is a much better course. I can't say I would make the drive out there again just to play the course. Maybe if a group wanted to go I would.

Total Goat Farm. Really Disappointing.

This has always been one of the "cheaper" Corona golf courses. Doesn't mean its a bad course or that its a bad track. Quite the opposite actually. In OC this would probably be a $100 a round course. It has potential, but it is sadly going to waste. I live locally, so I play all the Corona & i15 courses somewhat frequently. I have played Dos Lagos more than a dozen times. This last time could very well be my last time. The course conditions were terrible. We're in a drought, I know, but everyone else seems to be doing ok. I was really unhappy with what I got for the price I paid. Plenty of other good choices in the area for the same price, pick one of those.

Good Golf in Fontana??? Shocking!!

This course is the cousin of Tustin Ranch GC at a fraction of the cost! Play it!! I was really skeptical about playing here. A good golf course in Fontana, really? Yes!! I had some time in the afternoon on a weekday and decided to squeeze in 18 with a buddy. It was windier than I would have liked, but other than that I was really surprised at how green and lush it was. I mean we're in a drought and every other course is crying about water and drying everything out. Some courses are intentionally killing off areas with grass, but Sierra Lakes is alive and well. The bunkers were not good. Like hitting off concrete in some of them. Despite that the rest of the course is pretty nice. I will definitely be playing here again, although I've been told not to bother on the weekends, it gets too crowded and pace of play goes down the toilet.
