Pinecrest Golf Club

My friends and I were coming from Cleveland, so we just picked courses at random and prayed they would be ok. Pinecrest was really a treat to play, and when we go back to Hilton Head it will be the first course that we visit.
The conditions were pristine, and none of the holes are next to each other so it feels like you are the only people on the course. Truly impressed.
Really challenging from the tee, you need to hit your spots.
Very impressive practice facilities.
Rose Hill Golf Club
Played On 04/03/2016Nice layout, not sure what to say about the greens
I'm not a local, so I'm not sure if this course is always like this. This is the 2nd time we played Rose Hill because we enjoyed the layout the last time we played.
The greens have what appears to be poa sprinkled throughout. Putting was impossible and at times comical. There's no use complaining about it, you just have to accept it for what it is. I don't remember them being like this the last time we played which was 2014, I feel like I would have remembered these conditions.
It's still a nice layout, and a good value, but we probably won't be back.
Manakiki Golf Course
Played On 07/31/2015One of the best courses in NE Ohio, 5 hour round every single time
This course is gorgeous and challenging. A Donald Ross gem.
However, it will be a 5 hour round every. single. time you play here. There are simply too many people who play this course who do not possess the level of play that is required.
If you play on the weekend after 9am, prepare yourself for a 5 1/2 hour round.
Hey Pd. I am a local. Rose hill went down hill for a while. The Brown Management Group took over and has slowly restoring the course. I play here once every couple of months. It's definitely improving. Now that it's summertime they will be able to clear that Poa off the greens. Try again the next time you come, you may be surprised :)
