Saddle Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/16/2023Misleading Rates. Didn’t include Cart. 6 hr around
Misleading rates. I booked for 150 total for two people on golf now. But I arrived to the course they charged over 200 with carts. Ridiculous. No mention of that before, and this course is not worth $75 walking. Also, no Marshall on a Saturday morning. The 3 some in front of us was slow as heck and it took us 6 hours to finish. Overall, pretty horrible experience.

Beautiful layout with elevated tee boxes over canyons, huge undulations, quick greens, and fantastic amenities. It’s expensive, but worth every penny.

Generally, I like this course, but they had just sanded the greens that morning, and they didn’t make mention of that before I showed up. Not cool. They were terrible.
I also played with a member who thought he was funny, but was just an A.H. with his incessant degrading remarks about his partner’s play, and mine at times. Maybe it had something to do with the flask he kept hitting at 11am.
Also, I may join this club someday (as my wife and son grow interest in playing as well), so I WANT to like this club, but I get a very pretentious vibe from the pro shop half of the time I’m there. The guy was great, but the woman in there was curt at best. They need to step it up.

This is a fantastic layout. Former Senior PGA tour course. The course isn't in top-notch quality, but it's still totally worth $75 or less to play. I can usually get on for about $45 in the afternoon, and it's a no-brainer compared to Grey Rock or Plum Creek. It's an older course, so it has lots of mature trees that adds to the character. FYI I typically spend about $50 to play, scratch golfer, and play once per week.

I've played it here a lot over the years. Less than $50 in the morning, it's great value. Course is in great shape.

This course is an hour drive for me, but totally worth it. The fairways and greens were in immaculate shape. Love the layout. Paid 45 and TOTALLY worth it. Will definitely be back!

I loved all the undulations In this course. I just played it for the first time yesterday and the greens had been punched recently so the course conditions weren't ideal, but it was well worth the 50 or 60 bucks I paid on GolfNow. # 16 was closed because of the recent floods, but it's OK because you just started off by playing # 9 on the other course. Definitely better than any public course in Austin. I'm not sure if the course is usually in better condition when it has not just recently flooded, but even still it's just as good if not better as the public courses in Austin, but with a much better layout. Pretty tight, and lots of huge trees. I'm good with my long irons so I used them a lot yesterday, and left the driver in my bag most of the back nine and shot better because of it. I remember reading a review of the golf shop staff was not very friendly, and I would say that my experience was pretty consistent. I went in with that in mind so I was probably a little bit more friendly to try and nip that in the bud. Older country club, so nothing special as far as visual appeal of the clubhouse. I hear it's pretty expensive to join. Basically, anytime I can find a deal on golf now I will be back!
