Brickshire Golf Club
Played On 07/23/2023Great course and challenge.
It was my first time playing this course, but it won't be the last. The practice area was very nice and in good condition. The tee boxes were immaculate as it was all the way to the greens which were quite receptive. The course is challenging, but fair with a good set of tees based on your skill level. The only downside was a foursome in front of us who would never let us play through as we were a twosome. Most of the day, we arrived to the tee box before they finished teeing off. A Marshall on the course could have potentially assisted in this matter. Truly enjoyed the overall experience at Brickshire.
The Club At Viniterra
Played On 07/09/2021Nice course
My group really liked the course and we got a great rate. The course despite two inches of rain the night before was in great shape. Our only complaints which was big is that it was 90 degrees and humid, but NOT ONE water cooler on the entire course. There were jugs everywhere, but not one cooler on the course with water.

For February, the course was in excellent condition. The greens were in fabulous condition. The course is fair and each hole seems to be its own space. I have played here a few times and I love the layout.
Colonial Heritage Club
Played On 09/23/2018Second Go Around
My normal group played this course on a whim early in the spring and were disappointed in the greens, but we were invited back to play again this past weekend. I must say I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER that my group went back to play there. First, there had been rain in the area the past few days, but the course drained so well you hardly knew the course had been wet at all. The layout of all 18 holes is very well planned out throughout a growing golf course community. Each hole is set off as its own hole and not next to another hole so each hole is like its own experience which to my group made it that much more enjoyable. I suggest paying attention to the score card to make sure you are playing the correct set of tees based on your handicap. My group played from the blue tees which are handicaps 12-19 which were accurate. The entire course while challenging is very playable for all skill levels. You are not going to face tight holes surrounded by tees so a shot that goes astray is lost in the woods. The fairways are like walking on carpet and the greens were some of the most consistent greens I have played on before as well as well kept greens. The rough is rough so if you are in the rough, take an extra club. The snack bar has some excellent food as well as different options other than your typical hot dog at the turn at go. Colonial Heritage really has sold me on a true golf experience for playing a round of golf with some family and friends. The course was challenging, but fair so do yourself a favor and go play this course. It is a 45 minute drive for my golf group and it was well worth that drive and more.
Colonial Heritage Club
Played On 04/06/2018Over priced
The course does have a nice layout. Pretty much each hole you will have a playable second shot as is an open layout which is nice. The staff was very nice and the snack bar was good. To start, a small bucket of range balls was $8 which is quite over priced as I have played nicer more ritzy courses where a small token is $4-$5. The driving range was nice. Fairways were not grown in yet due to the weather which I can understand. The biggest issue were the greens. If i could rate them a negative five I would. For the price of my round, I expect immaculate greens not greens covered in sand, holes all over the place some as big as a quarter and overall just 100% inconsistent. My group was giving gimmies from 5 feet in because no green would role without hops, skips and jumps. We were all super frustrated to pay a large amount for such poor greens. The round was worth $40, but round total plus the range balls was $65. Really feel like the course owes me some change.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course
Played On 04/05/2018Fun Thursday
For early in the year, the course is in decent condition since temps have not warmed up yet. The greens were in excellent condition, the pace of play could not have been better. The course is fairly open so even beginning golfers can enjoy the course.
The Hollows Golf Club - Lake/Cottage
Played On 07/30/2017Nice course to play
I had not played at the Hollows in a long time, but it was a very pleasant experience to be back. The course is good for new to intermediate players for sure to just go out and play. The course is fairly straight forward. The greens are a little small, but that is just being picky. The fairways and rough were in good condition, the greens were in excellent condition. For an intermediate golfer like myself, it was a great day to work on my game, but also not feel like what is around the corner for me on my next shot. I was able to go truly work on hitting my drives, irons, etc. and just enjoy playing golf.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course
Played On 05/28/2017Pleasant Surprise
Played on Sunday where it had rained heavily the day before and had some light rain throughout the round. The course was in excellent condition considering the weather. The course is set up very nicely for all golfers and I would say very well for a weekend warrior. The course is very playable for any age of golfer with the sets of tees they have. The course is very forgiving and very fair across the board. This was the first time I had been to this course and I must say myself and my playing partnered were very happy overall with the golf experience. The dining area was very nice especially for a golf course. Had a full service meal area.
Crossings Golf Club
Played On 08/06/2016Mine field greens
Check in was quick and easy. The range is the best around town as I am a local. The course was clean, but the greens were the worst greens I have seen all summer. They were bumpy, patches of dryness and just plain not taken care of. The best looking green on the course was on the 17th hole. All day long my partner, the guys were playing with and myself were putting through craters on the green. You would start a putt online and within a few feet would change directions due to bumps in the green, the million unrepaired ball marks, etc. I have played this course many times before and have been please, but Saturday the greens really took away from the experience.
Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a good experience with the greens. Please email us at TheCrossingsGC@outlook.com so that we may further discuss your round. We hope to hear from you soon.
Crossings Golf Club
Played On 8/2/2013Crossings experience
The Crossings has a nice facility. I like to use a driving range before a round to loosen up and this course has a fantastic range. I would have liked to played the course when it had not been raining. The round was long as it was carts only.
Queenfield Golf Club
Played On 7/29/2013Course is very friendly to golfer. Greens fast. Nice layout
The course was in good condition and all the fairways are very wide so it is excellent for the weekend warrior or beginner. Course is pretty straight forward meaning what you see is what you get. There is good scenery for the golfer to see while on the course. Good course to play and they have good hot dogs.
Jordan Point Country Club
Played On 7/20/2013like playing in your back yard.
The course has potential to be a nice course. The tee boxes were not cut and full of crab grass. Grass has not been cut in rough in who knows how long. It was 4-5 inches deep at least on every hole. You can easily see your tee shots, but the rough was so high it would take you 10 minutes to find your ball. The greens were very, very slow.
I am so sorry to learn about your disappointment on the conditions of our greens. We take a lot of pride on our golf course, it's conditions, and our hospitality. Please contact me via email at apalen@colonialheritageclub.com or by phone (757)645-2032 and I would love to host your group back when our greens have recovered as a guest of mine.
Sincerely,
