Good course, beautiful location.

Cocoa Beach Country Club is 1 of my favorite places to golf. It is situated along the Banana River, and ~ 1mile from the Atlantic Ocean. Mornings tend to be more crowded than afternoons. There tends to be a breeze more often than not. The course has many lakes, and a good mix of local wildlife, particularly several varieties of birds. Winter time tends to be very crowded, as the snow birds love to play here. There is a "beer cart" that drives around, offering to sell very expensive liquids. The 19th hole is a decent place to finish your round. A good course for the money.

Getting better, yet still needs work.

The course has had some needed upgrades since a new owner took over ~ a year ago.
Pros: The teeboxes, fairways and greens now have grass. The bathrooms are nicely upgraded, and the carts are all new. The new owner is likeable, approachable and is working hard to improve a course that needs lots more TLC.
Cons: The oak trees are way overgrown, and on many fairways, it is almost impossible to not hit into trees, sandtraps or water. This course can be irratating if you cannot hit long and very accurate. The sandtraps still contain sand that can be rock-hard when it is dry. The cartpaths are shot and need replacing. Finally, some of the waitstaff/bar staff at The Wedge, are negative, complain about the changes/upgrades presently occuring to the entire operation, and display irratation with "It's too crowded" when there are only 3 or 4 people in the entire "Wedge" (Restaurant and bar). And those 2 particular ladies will let patrons know that they are having a bad day, and you will have to tolerate their bad attitudes.
In conclusion, for the price and lack of a crowd (No shock to any of us that the place is usually desolate) it is an OK place to play golf. Forget spending time and money in The Wedge, it will dampen your spirit.

You nailed it when you said, " Forget spending time and money in The Wedge, it will dampen your spirit." I live in Wedgefield and have not played a round there since December 31st. Yet, I have played 41 rounds of golf at 12 different golf courses since then!

I will NEVER spend my money on playing a round of golf at Wedgefield ever again.
