took a little ride from Hilton Head. course is very secluded but trip advisor was great. nice course for the money very quite and scenic. saw deer and eagles good fun for the money

first time I played here. conditions were perfect. US government at our best. each hole is different, no houses or parallel fairways. it is well worth the drive from Hilton head, don't miss this gem

Bear Creek Golf Club

played the course for the second time. greens are too too fast for the average golfer. as with any country club the range was open and the pyramids of balls were available. I hit 10 shots with a wedge and then went into clubhouse. I was told that they saw me on the range and to pay $6.oo. very tacky. when I paid I was informed that they do not honor legal tender backed by the country that my family has served for 3 generations. I wastold to go to my car and get a credit card. when I protested the manager came out and said he would charge his credit card and I was to give him the $6.00 instead. my round was ruined by this insult.embarressed,very unprofessional,poorly handled I will never play at this course again and I told as many fellow golfers about my rude service. golf is a game of courtesy not ambushing players on the practice range. how petty
To avoid confusion when playing Bear Creek please see some of the policies that may be different than other courses.
These include:
-Fast Greens: Our members prefer fast greens, so we try to accommodate the best we can. Winter time is usually a little faster than normal due to the grass being dormant.
-Unlimited practice balls for members, but $6 fee for using the range for warmup. This ensures that we track who is using the range to make it most enjoyable for our members and preserve as much turf for all golfers. We do not ever have players hit off mats.
-Our club has not accepted cash in the golf shop for over 30 years. We have mostly member accounts to charge. Credit cards are a simple way to collect any outside play fees. This is very common at primarily private clubs.
-Dress code: To ensure the traditions of the club and the game, we require proper golf attire including Collared Shirts tucked in, and no cargo pockets.
