The Crossings At Carlsbad
Played On 02/13/2018Not for faint of heart but beautiful challenging golf holes- good value-great facilities & staff
Unique from most golf tracks-great challenging holes w/spectacular views-altitude changes difficult to process but beautiful views & great golf challenges-from the tips need to be a 10 hcp or less--from the whites manageable for shorter hitters but a challenge. Greens a bit IPA (hoppy) later in the day.
Veterans advised me that slow play (4+hrs) can be avoided if one tees off before 9:00.
Great practice facililities for chipping, putting & range work. Hospitable staff great-(need more draft beer selection) but dining inside & out very appealing.
Not a walkable course - in fact- from green-tee as long as the course itself.
In the end-quite a challenging golf adventure!
Renditions Golf Course
Played On 12/21/201718 holes, 18 different challenges: Pricelesd
The idea of replicating golf holes from major championships in the U.S. Scotland & England is intriguing & for the most part carried out. Amen corner, the famous island green, Hogan’s alley at Carnoustie, etc. is well presented & challenging! Loved the course that was in great shape for Dec. 21 & can’t wait to return..staff very helpful & dining/bar facilities attractive.
Prescott Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2017Underrated course with great staff/price
A good track in good condition & maybe the toughest par 3s in the county, Great price & staff very helpful. While it is not a premium course like in the valley it is very challenging with fast greens very hard to read. Every hole has its own challenge but would play short for long accurate (young) golfers. Underrated by stoke & slope- it is a mountain course with nice views.
Maderas Golf Club
Played On 02/24/2017Great course in beautiful quiet setting
This is a top 5 golf experience in the country. Immaculate conditions, great layout, perfect setting, challenging from all tees, and great staff. Many holes could be considered the signature hole. Love playing it & will return from Az to play it again!
Quintero Golf Club
Played On 12/22/2014Great ride in a high desert miracle
Magnificent conditions & friendly staff-very helpful-well maintained w/greens that defied pace & line-need local help. Sand not uniform from bunker to bunker & there were many of them. Depth perception required- given elevation changes (looks like a 7--iron but PW was the right club. Grass so green & soft did not seem real! WOW! Not for a 20 handicap.
StoneRidge Golf Course
Played On 8/20/2013Great esert venue-not for walking but spectacular views of course & area. Buy the course book!
Loved the course but not for high handicappers. 5 tees to choose from & course changes w/each tee. Many elevation changes & canted fairways but not overdone. Tiered greens plenty of well-placed traps-sand not great as the course has had more rain than usual. A true desert course as washes define OB & lots of flora & fauna to see. Very good grille & food w/friendly service. Great value for a 15 handicap from tees one up from tips.
Thank you for coming to enjoy a round of golf at Quintero. We are working on a bunker renovation as we speak. When will you be back?
