I am not a high brow golfer and I play all over Central Florida from municipal courses to private courses and there is not one redeeming quality that I can mention about Timucuan. The starter was unfriendly and greeted us with “name”?. All fairways and most tee boxes were brown with dirt and sparse grass. Fairways and greens freshly aerated and nobody in the club house mentioned any of it as we handed over $122 for our foursome. The rough was unkept with weeds higher than the grass making it a challenge to find a ball a few feet from the fairway. Play got backed up by a slow group so we called to ask for ranger assistance and nobody ever came out. No beverages on the course at 91 degrees. I’ve wanted to play this course for a long time and now I know better than to ever come back as it would take more money and time than anyone there will ever commit to in order to make it the course it once was. I would say they could put a pad lock on the door and shut down anytime.

Tee boxes, & fairways in good condition and greens very fast and also in great shape. Pace of play was good and we stopped into Tiano's restaurant for a drink and a slice which is always good!

Greens very fast and in great shape as well as the fairways and tee boxes. Pace of play not bad for this time of year.

First time playing here as it's about an hour from our home. Very nice staff and the course was very scenic and natural with only homes on some of the holes and not lining both sides of the fairways. Some ladies Tee boxes were crowned and some not in great shape. Greens were overall good, but difficult to judge through ball marks and scuffs around the pin.
Only complaint; we showed up as a twosome and were pared with another twosome and then the group behind us was allowed to go out as a twosome with nobody behind them, so I have to ask why starters feel obligated to do this when the tee sheet tells them that there is an opening, so why not just let the folks who come together, play together on those occasions? Happens all the time...at every course

The course is in great shape and the pace of play was perfect.

With recent rains we knew the course would be wet, but Spruce Creek usually drains well, compared to others in the area. When I checked in the pro shop attendant was preoccupied with a phone call; he never mentioned that any of the holes were cart path only, although I know they are usually marked and there was no indication of the back nine being closed. # of the holes on the front nine had water so deep in the fairways that we had to leave a ball in a "lake" because it was too big and too deep to get it. We pulled around to 10 and the sign read "back 9 cart path only", so we teed off. 1 minute later the pro shop attendant came driving out yelling the back nine is closed, I told you that when you checked in......so we played the 6 playable holes again which I would have just gotten a refund for upon check-in had some actually told me that the course was under water. I'll wait a few weeks before returning and hope that the course has a chance to dry out and that someone else is working in the pro shop next time!

The course is in great shape overall. Some tee boxes being worked on, so 4 stars but good to see they are always improving the course conditions.

I have been playing this course for about 15 years and it is in the best condition that I have ever seen it! The fairways and tee boxes are all in good condition with the exception of a few dry spots on a few holes. The greens seem to be in the best condition that I have seen in years; not extremely fast but rolling true and faster than they were kept in the past.

Tee boxes and fairways were the best that I have seen them in awhile. Greens still recovering from aerification which made putting difficult, but with a few more weeks of rain the course should be in really nice shape. The carts not having a canopy to cover the clubs in the rain is something to consider when playing this course in the summer.

We have played here many times and the course is usually in great shape. While many other courses in the area have started to get dried out , Spruce Creek has done a good job to keep the fairways & tee boxes in good condition and the greens are fast and true. We had a great round!

Played this course because it was a little less expensive than surrounding courses and golfnow had a tee time that worked for us. Tee boxes were being marked out with paint to be cut I assume, because they were a bit long. Fairways were very dry and brown in most places until you got close to the greens. Greens were aerated in the past week or so it appeared and there was no mention of this on golf now or from the pro shop upon arrival; I would have gone someplace else if I had known this. Overall we had an enjoyable day, but I'll wait until the greens grow in and some rain helps out the fairways before returning.

This is by far the best public course in the area; the tee boxes are well maintained. Bunkers, fairways and greens in excellent condition despite the dry weather recently. Got a great deal on golf now, but even at full price this course would be worth every penny. Can't wait to return for another round!

Arrived at the course for a pre paid hot deal time and although the lot was not even half full, we were informed that my wife and I could not ride in a cart together due to COVID restrictions but we would be paired up with 2 single players who we did not know and who did not know each other. We requested that we be able to play as a 2some due to the COVID restrictions and precautionary measures we have observed at other courses in the area,, by not requiring anyone to be paired with players they do not know and did not arrive with. Instead of making accommodations for us, “Mike” told us to “call golf now and get a refund”. It was obvious that he felt as though we should subject ourselves to an uncomfortable round with strangers at a precarious time, because we had a “hot deal” time through golf now and somehow we didn’t deserve to be treated as well as those that paid full price. So, we went to another local course that was apprecIative of our concerns and we had a great day despite the poor attitude of the pro shop attendant at Spruce Creek. If a course offers discounted tee times, they should treat everyone equally and not feel as though saving $10 entitles them to treat you as an unwanted guest.

My wife and I live on the coast and play alot of flat tracks, with water hazards, so we enjoy the different layout that Deltona Club offers with hills and numerous bunkers. The fairways are in good shape considering how dry it has been and the greens a fast and true. Off course amenities offer good food and drinks.

We had not been to Turnbull in awhile because it tends to get crowded during the winter months, but the online tee sheet showed it was wide open so we went for a round at a course we've always enjoyed. After we teed off we were immediately disappointed as the fairway was punched with large holes and had not been mowed in a week. The first 3 greens were almost unplayable due to the sparse grass and weed combination. The greens got better, but were inconsistent in condition and speed throughout the front 9. We never got to play the back 9 because they started sending people off the back at 5 pm and when we made the turn there were 3 groups waiting and not enough time in the day to get through the back. When we asked the pro shop attendant "why they were sending people off the back when groups are making the turn?" They told us to "go ask the guy on the tractor, he's the boss" ....as he drove away as fast as he could...Go anyplace else in the area and you will be happier with the course and the staff.

Tee boxes and greens in good condition. Fairways pretty dry and sparse on some holes. Foursome in front of our twosome did not seem to want to let us play through as they lagged behind the group in front of them. Overall a good course and a fun round.

Always enjoy the layout at this course and it's about as much challenge as the average golfer needs from the blue tee. Course was in good condition overall with tee boxes and greens in very good condition. Fairways a bit rough in spots, but playable.

Always enjoy the layout at Cypress Head. The tee boxes and greens were in overall good condition as well as most of the fairways. A few fairways had bare spots were it looked like fungus and/or weeds had been treated and were still growing in. Bunkers all well maintained. Pace of play was good despite being a holiday.

Showed up expecting to pay $25 but upon arrival we were informed it would be $41. We figured it must be pretty nice for that price, we had driven 45 min. to get there, so we played. The tee boxes are crowned and grass is sparse on most holes. The fairways were a little long but overall good. The greens were grainy, several different types of grass and weeds growing and inconsistent, but playable. The course has no scenery and no holes that stand out in design or difficulty; just straight and flat with some dog legs left and right. For the money, I would have gone to one of the other corses in the area that actually warrants the price.

I had a golfnow tee time cancelled a few weeks ago by the course because of a tournament. We had to find another place to play and pay more, but we decided to give this place another chance this week with another golfnow tee time. When we arrived as a twosome, we were asked to pair with a single guy and told we had to start on the back nine due to a tournament later in the day. Whatever; we rolled with all of it and got to the tee box only to find another single there, so now we had a foursome. We followed a slow foursome all day with nobody in front of them. The course was just barely playable; fairways lumpy with patches of weeds except for a few yards in front of each green that were over seeded and green. The greens were very short and I would say fast, but did not roll true and speeds were not consistent due to sand and small debris. Very difficult to get a ball to hold even with flying the ball high on approach shots. Can't believe people play in whatever daily tournaments they have there that obviously take priority over golfnow tee times! I won't be back.
