Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 12/04/2022great course, awful pace of play because of tournament
Goflnow did not warn me that my 'hot deal' tee time would put me behind a 36 hole tournament. I knew it'd be tough to get all 18 in due to darkness but I didn't know it would be impossible because of the tournament.
I feel like I got ripped off a bit. It wasn't a deal at all.
Ignoring that, the course is great and I'd love to play it again at a normal pace of play
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 12/14/2021Great Conditions, Good Pace
Course conditions are fantastic tee to green. Might be the best in the area. Had some pace problems in the first few holes with a group jumping around but they let us go through and then we were cruising.
We love hearing about our golfers' experiences. Please tell us more about what you enjoyed during your round. Thanks for choosing ChampionsGate Golf Club - International!

ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 07/17/2021Great tee to green, decent greens
First time playing the National at Champions Gate. I definitely prefer the International but the National is a good course. The greens were spotty but otherwise conditions were quite good. I imagine the greens will be high quality in a couple weeks. Happy to play it but if given the choice I'd choose the International course.
Awesome! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing ChampionsGate Golf Club.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 06/12/2021Pretty Easy Course, Decent Layout, Moron Ranger
Holes are generally wide and in good condition. Greens were aerated so can't comment on them much but I knew they'd be aerated before playing.
I was having a good day until their idiot of a ranger started an argument with me after hole 14 that we were on a 5 hour pace. I told him to do the math from my tee time because my foursome was on 4 hour pace. He insisted we weren't. He repeated 3 times that we had to pick it up because we were playing a 5 hour round. At the time of the argument we were through 14 holes in 3 hours. We were done with the round in just under 4 hours. Pretty good for first time playing the course with a couple guys who rarely play golf.
So the ranger ruined the rest of our back 9 as the inexperienced golfers started feeling rushed. Just takes one moron to ruin your day.
TLDR: decent course, pretty easy for skilled golfers. But one idiot can ruin your day.
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 04/22/2021Great conditions with some iffy greens
The rough and fairways are in great shape. The greens are mostly decent but a few are in pretty poor condition. It may be a result of all the traffic from the past year but I'd still be pretty annoyed if I paid top dollar morning rates.
Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 02/21/2020Okay course but better options
Wouldn't pay more than 30 for a round here. Lots of bare spots on greens. Fairway conditions were okay. Not a bad course for beginners
Rio Pinar Golf
Played On 02/09/2020Good value at right price
Conditions were pretty good. Lots of little leaves in the rough. Course is fairly narrow but not too bad as you'll find the ball on most wide shots. I wouldn't pay more than 30 to play here. It seemed like a muni course but longer, which was nice for the better players. Greens were in okay shape. Place was packed probably because it's one of the cheaper courses in the area. There were lots of kids, and novice golfers but everyone kept up with the group ahead of them which was nice. Pace of play was right at 4:30 but we waited on every tee box.
If you can get the tee time at $30 or under, go for it otherwise I'd look elsewhere
Eagle Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2020Good course, bad pace of play
Teed off at 2:10 and pace of play was probably around 4:45 so couldn't finish before dark which was pretty disappointing. Decent value for money at 40. I don't think I'd pay more than 50.
Very little trouble on most holes so just grip driver and rip it. Greens were nice
The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 02/01/2020Great course, Friendly staff
I was a single and concerned about pace of play going off at 2:15. The starter (Don I think) was a real nice guy and brought me over to the back 9 and let me go off alone. I got around in under 3:45
Good course. It was cart path only due to rain but otherwise conditions were good. Greens were slower than expected. Would play again. Great value for money at $30 for the round
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course and friendly staff. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Lake Course
Played On 08/10/2019Nice course, weird cart rules
Nice course in good condition. Definitely recommend if you get it for a good price. At non-resident prices not sure it's fully worth the money. Greens are firm but not very fast. They're challenging as many greens slope away from from you
Only course I've ever played where I was told not to ride the rough with a cart. Can makes it tough / slow process to find your ball and the rule seems unnecessary. Not sure why every other course on the planet is fine with carts in the rough but this place isn't
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2018Great course, stupid rules
The course and practice area are fantastic and I got a good deal to play in the afternoon in late August (the off season in Florida). I would definitely recommend playing this course which is in excellent condition and keep that in mind as I describe why I removed 1 star.
I had to remove a star because they have one of the dumbest rules I've ever heard of in my 25 years playing golf. The cart kid told me that my playing partner and I were not allowed to share clubs from 1 bag due to 'pace of play' reasons. He pushed for us to rent a set of clubs per 'club rules.' This is incredibly stupid for a number of reasons:
1. We hadn't teed off yet so they do not know what our pace of play would be. For the record we played 12 holes in 2 hours and 15 minutes. If we're not slowing up the course this sharing clubs issue shouldn't even be brought up.
2. The entire tee sheet all day was empty. I know because I booked my tee time using golfnow a few hours before hand and every tee time was available.
3. I had 2 putters and 4 wedges in the bag so that no time would be lost to passing clubs when chipping or putting
4. In the extreme heat in Florida, everyone drives to a golf ball, then waits there while their partner hits to let the partner get back into the cart before driving to their ball. Therefore you're not wasting any time if both players are pulling from 1 bag. They're almost always hitting shots at different times.
This idiotic rule just felt like a money grab attempt and something they can't justify when challenged. They just keep saying it's the 'club rules.' News for management... it doesn't have to be, particularly in your off season on a day when 10 people were on the course.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 08/18/2018Nice layout, Ok conditions but needs work
This course definitely could be really nice but currently it's below average in my opinion. I wouldn't pay more than 25 for a round based on the conditions now. The fairways are patchy and the greens are recovering. I stopped stressing over putts quickly because the ball just doesn't roll true. A lot of would be ponds were dry as well.
Play it if you get a good deal under 25 otherwise there's plenty of good golf in the area.
Country Club of Whispering Pines - Pines Course
Played On 04/27/2017Ok value, poor pace of play
I played the pines course and would definitely would not pay over 40 bucks for a round here. The course conditions were decent and pace of play was terrible. No rangers out to keep anything moving and it seems like tons of retired folks were just driving around looking for gaps to jump into. You know they aren't going to drive around forever. Eventually I'm sure they just forced their way onto the course and ruined pace of play.
Also, the back tees were marked way up. They must have taken a couple hundred yards off the course. I just used the back tee box anyway.
With so many other courses close by you can go ahead and skip this one.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 04/26/2017Solid course, good conditions
The course was good with a decent hole layouts and good conditions. The only real complaint is the price for the round. The course was busy so you can't expect to get a big discount but it was a bit steep considering how many other courses are in the area.
Would play again if the price was lower.
