About

Love the game. Live, eat and sleep golf. At the range 1 day a week and play 1-2 day a week.Organize a Saturday morning golf group of 24 golfers. Book 4 tee times 16 spots Saturday morning and fill it first reply first confirmed until all spots are full. I also organize a 4 day 6 round Golf weekend in Orondo, Washington. This year we are 16 golfers. My game comes and goes.

Disappointed based on past reviews!

Full disclosure before playing the course my expectations were high based on prior reviews and overall rating. I hate when my experience/review is so polar opposite but I have to be honest and fair to those considering where to lay based on GA Reviews.
Was a nice reception when I arrived in the Pro Shop.
I did later hear the F-Bomb from behind the counter which I found a bit surprising.
The Range was foreshadowing for the course conditions.
Finding a decent lie on the range was not possible, weeds and dirt.
Tee boxes and fairways were OK at best. Clippings from previous cuts in clumps all over the course.
Rough was ridiculous, long and unkept. Patches of clover at points 6+"inches tall.
Greens were acceptable hard but the ball rolled true.
From a Top rating in 2015 either people or budgets have changed.
Tragic because it could be a beautiful Brad Benz experience. The layout is excellent highlighted by a split fairway on 18 with an Island option shortcut.
IMO there was no signs of care for this course.
The grounds were dry and solid with a couple exceptions so no reason that the maintenance team hadn't cut the roughs.
Tee time was 12:16 Monday.
5 1/2 hour rond.

Thank you for your review.
we have had an extraordinarily wet winter in NorCal and have been unable to mow roughs as per our normal schedule. Once the rains ease up they will be back to the normal 1" cut.

Greens maintained Rest of Course Dormant

Way to many courses in the area in good to great shape in the summer season. Don't waste your time.
Fairways hard and dry. Greens are in good shape but not consistent some fast and some slow
Bunkers are hard to understand, like they bought sand from several sources so each bunker plays differently and some were overfilled and some thin
Very narrow at times houses and road come into play if you spray the ball
The course IMO should hire an expert to give them input on how to set up/maintain their course
The course does have good potential and based on past reviews could be very playable when being maintained in season
Worst part was Front 9 twice Back 9 closed but not advised when booked
It's a Private Course so not sure if they're open to the Public in season

WOW!! Amazing Course Amazing Golf Experience

Incredible condition for Summer
My 14th round since arriving on Sept 7th and Valley by far the best conditions I've played this trip
You read more about other courses in the area IMO this is a must play
Course is challenging but fair Water, Bunkers, Trees, make it exciting and requires some strategy
Play the right tees for your length or you`ll be overwhelmed
Might be too much of a challenge for high handicap golfers
The people are amazing, the facilities Top Class.

Excellent Value Good Shape for Summer

Bear in mind it's summer golf
Really enjoyed the course
Generous Fairways, puttable greens, consistent bunkers, peppered with hazards
Recommend for Beginners through to Mid Handicap golfers
Not a track for Low Handicappers
Had several birdie putts
My marketing slogan would be "Play the right tees and have fun!"
Very friendly staff and active maintenance team
Can feel the pride, that's nice

MUST PLAY, Incredibly Challenging, Excellent Conditions!

IMO Pete Dye's Mona Lisa
Like being on a surreal golf course
Every look is stunning on the course and the surroundings.
takes confidence and composure to play this course
Does give advantage to shorter approach shots because every green is guarded by water, bunkers or rock formations so play the right tees (not a course to let testosterone get the best of you)
If you're not precise on distance I'd suggest add a club every approach shot With a couple exceptions long is the safer position and always play middle of the green
If you spray bring enough balls
Definitely Mid to Low Handicap golfers only
Facilities and the people are Top Notch

Good value on Golfnow.com

Book on Golfnow.com and look for last minute deals for pricing comparable with the experience
Better options in the area if you have to pay regular Green Fees
The course is in Good Condition for the time of year
Greens are mostly in good shape, punched and sanded recently so a bit slow
Couple greens are in rough shape and a few spots on the fairway
The Bunkers should be marked GUR they are baked crusty near impossible to play out of.
Some beautiful views on the course
Layout is good with 18 different holes
Hazards force you to think your way around the course.
Fairways are mostly generous.
Facilities are very nice but this time of year empty.
People were helpful and friendly.

I have played both Tera Lago courses many times. The holes are challenging and the overall layout is very good, however, the sand traps are disgusting. For years, the management has ignored getting them into decent shape. If you decide to play in summer, be sure to get a low rate via Golf Now. Paying full price for this place is nuts. When I arrived to play, there was no one at the drop off point or even at the cart area. Only one employee was working. There wasn't even a starter on the first tee. The course would be great if they kept it up and improved their services. In the meantime. it is a low level experience. It is worth the money if you pay the lowest rate.

Amazing Course Terrible Staff

The course itself is fantastic and I would highly recommend it
Every hole is a challenge and no 2 holes alike
By far the best conditions so far this golf trip Tee to Green in great shape and it's mid September
The Lavender Tees at 6179 yards are the longest 6179 course you'll ever play Fairways are uphill and unless you have a long carry little to no roll
The staff from arrival didn't even care that I was there, made no effort to provide guidance
Had to just wander down to the tee on my own so started somewhat ticked off. After the round wow what an inconvenience I was
Was able to catch up to a single George from LV playing in the Golf Channel Am tournament
Great guy made the round more enjoyable

Great Course Tees for all levels!

Hills/Holt collaboration that offers good challenge to low Handicap Golfers and Great fun for High Handicappers. Just choose the right tees.
Some longer Par 4's from the Regular Tees so you will need a solid drive to score.
Fair peppering of Hazards to keep you interested.
Amazing sand in the Bunkers (best this trip so playable).
Summer in Palm Springs Area so greens a little slow (can't cut too tight with dry hot conditions)
For this time of year the course is in amazing condition.
Beautiful Resort golf layed out to keep the homes out of play.
Facilities are heritage elite top level.

WOW!! Amazing Course Amazing Golf Experience!

Near the Top of my List.
Course was in fantastic condition Tee to Green on all holes and it's mid September
The greens are slow but pure Don't over read the breaks with the speed
Hazards are more to test your nerve than challenging
Lots of Bunkers but never hit one of them
Generous Fairways
Played the Lavender Tees 6128 yards Slope 122 Rated 69.4
People were amazing
Beautiful views
Got lucky and played with an incredible couple from San Fran Dave and Lynn they played Match play and he gave her 3 strokes They were amazing to play with You could draw her ball flight with a ruler

Incredible Course MUST PLAY in the area

Great layout, every hole presented a different challenge.
As anticipated Pete Dye delivers on Hazards. Sand highly visible on every hole with a nice introduction of water hazards.
Played the White Tees and delivered a strong challenge for me 6159 yds Slope 128 rated 70.8.
Lot of Risk/Reward carry holes on the best angles.
Course is in fantastic condition for summer golf.

Mid September and Conditions Still very Good!

Played the Blended Blue/White Tees and gave me an honest challenge for my ability
Totals 6,000 yards
Several holes the hazards are strategically placed to stretch out the course and create some solid risk/reward options.
Greens are slow but still rolling true except 16 and 17 are in tough shape but still puttable.I 1 putt both of them.
Generous fairways, Receptive greens.
No clubhouse or post golf facilities.
It's currently a no frills great golf experience.

Good shape for this time of year!

So many great courses in the area
Boulders offers a very good golf experience without the high end Green Fees.
It's September so the pace is fast, the course is a bit dry but fairways and greens are still in very good condition for the time of year.
Added bonus in the dry desert is increased rollout
The views are stunning
Not a fan of their GPS System on the carts but does give the raw data you need.
Adding a useable course layout to the Scorecard would be a welcomed addition.

MUST PLAY in the Area Fantastic RTJ Jr Course

Sunriver offers 3 Golf Courses. I only played Woodlands and it was an amazing course.
Challenging course for even top level golfers
You must play this course if in the area
Great conditions Tee to Green.
Layout is very interesting, never see a similar look through all 18 holes.
Hazards are abundant but RTJ Jr does give you a safe option to protect your score.
It's a golf course not a country club.

FUN GOLF RELAX! Enjoy! My Favorite in the Area

Sometimes you just want to go out and have fun on the golf course. Meadow Lakes is that course.
A couple challenging holes but overall a nice relaxing course that isn't going to bite you.
Great for High Handicappers, newer golfers, family and couples.
Don't misunderstand me, still offers a good round of golf.
probably not for most elite level low handicappers.
Friendly people staff and locals.

Must Play Course in the Area

Overall a great course in the area
For most a Power Cart recommended significant uphill and downhill grade
Surprisingly for the time of year the course was over watered too soft and ball would plug in the dry of the summer
Offers a good challenge to all levels of golfers
I wouldn't recommend to beginners
A few strategic holes so study the card and drive up to take a look
Fairways are mostly generous
Greens are true and play mid speed
Driving range okay to warm up but no guage of club length drops off a steep hill

One of Best Courses in the Area!!!

Early Tee Times are Great Value for early risers.
Paid $29.00 tee off before 7:00 am.
Course is in amazing condition from Tee Blocks to Greens. By far the best I have ever seen this course over the years and we're in the peak of our dry hot season.
Compliments to the Greenskeeper and his team.

Course is on it's Way Back to it's Original Splendor on the Grass

Absolutely the Most Improved course I played in the past year. New Owners are investing to get this course back to it's original plan. They've brought back Wayne Carleton the original designer to assist in this project and hired a capable management team.
Wayne did one of the most incredible designs I've seen carving the course into the natural terrain.
Greens have been rebuilt and were a bit slow and a little bumpy. Once the root system is fully developed they'll be able to cut them tight and fast.
Fairways have gone from hardpan dirt to mostly perfect. Still a few patches growing in but considering it's summer in the PNW (very dry) they are very playable. Fairways and Greens are protected by Bunkers that are playable. sand is a bit heavy in damp or wet conditions.
The fairways are reasonably generous but all carved through the woods. If you hit into the treed areas there's no chance to play out, they're naturally wooded and not manicured like you see on many courses. This isn't a maintenance issue it's an important design feature.
Every hole offers a unique challenge. None look the same.
High handicappers and beginners might get frustrated quickly so I'd suggest this course will appeal more to Mid/Low Handicap golfers.
If you play early BUG SPRAY is a must!!!
In 2003 GD rated this course the 8th Best New Course in USA and I'll suggest by 2019 it will be back on the radar as one of the Top Public courses in Washington State.

IMO Par 3's are Ridiculous Length

To continue my Title, 5 of 6 Par 3's are over 210 yards from the Blue Tees. For mere mortals if it's not a Hybrid or an Iron it's not a Par 3.
In the heat I would suggest a Power Cart. Is a very challenging walk and in the Hot weather I would not recommend walking.
Course is good condition and the 4's and 5's very playable.
Greens are true and moderate speeds
If you're there for fun and to enjoy your round I'd suggest blending the Tees on the Par 3's to lengths you are comfortable with.
Rates are very good especially for Seniors but do factor in the Power Cart price
Apparently they do have shuttles for several of the steep transitions from Green to Tees but not on a consistent schedule.
Would be a fun course with Tee Blocks changed on the 3's and consistent shuttle schedule.
I think there are better courses to choose from in the area.
