Great Course ....BUT!!!!!....

Being this is my favorite course in O.C i was excited to play it again.
But at the time of this review Southern Cal has had lots of rain in the past month so
The course was soggy and wet which i expected but the greenery and scenery made up for it.
just note its Cart Path only so call the starter to confirm if they have lifted the rule.
the fairways are very nice but still wet, the rough is extremely high due to the rainfall so bring more balls than you normally do just in case. The greens are A+++ and in great shape.
FYI some holes might be backed up bc golfers might be looking for their balls in the rough so patience is key. i would play this course when the sun has dried the course out a little bit if you want favorable scoring. i would recommend bringing some type of rain pants as the mud will be on your calf area. If you have "range shoes, wear them.
the course is beautiful as the rain has made it much greener but wet.
i love this course and will def be back in drier conditions.

Beautiful!!

Course conditions were fantastic, greens allowed the ball to roll true, some fairways are tight so bring extra balls ( OB is penalizing).
The course is very playable for all handicaps, and not to undulating so don’t worry about sloppy fairways to ruin your approach shots.
Cart gal was always around to accommodate the golfers. Only gripe was wished the ball washers were a little soapy, ( like to see some soap on my ball). Love the Practice facilities are there, you can practice all shots,
clubhouse personal ,starter, & cart guys were all friendly. Everyone is sure to have a great time at the Hyatt hill country.

Scratch golfers dream & High handicaps nightmare

1st time playing this course bc I heard how beautiful it was. Which it did not disappoint, fantastic views overlooking Yorba Linda with the High elevation around the course. A++.
If you appreciate scenic golf views this is the place to play. The course conditions were immaculate despite aeration of the greens.
Since the range was closed the pro shop allowed us to tee off 2hrs earlier which was very much appreciated. Pace of play was good, didn’t get backed up until the last 3 holes,, again this was duding the weekday.
But as a mid handicap golfer I was really disappointed how thick the rough was, the course is very sloppy / has undulating fairways on almost every hole. It is PGA tour like layout.
I understand course superintendents want to make it very challenging But need to make it golf friendly because not everybody is a scratch golfer. Narrow fairways didn’t help either.
It’s a nice scenic course but think they can make it playable for the avg golfer.
I would recommend this to a scratch golfer but not a mid/ high handicaps.
Pro shop & restaurant service is excellent.
I’ll say kuddos to the maintenance stuff they do keep ithe course in great condition

GREAT COURSE!

Arrived 1hr early to practice bc they had a tournament going on but finished early... Marshall allowed us to play 45 min earlier.
Course was in immaculate shape & conditions of the greens were rolling true. Fairways were plush & rough was playable. (Don’t like when superintendents try to trick the rough up like a U.S Open) Only gripe is not enough water/soap in the ball washers. & didn’t see the cart girl . Glad we took our snacks.
Overall this course is Awesome during the Summer months, while other courses are burnt out, they keep it green here.
Def worth the drive & fee’s. Enjoy!

Nice warmup course

Great beginner & Hi handicap course.
Was warmly greeted by starter to play
Found it odd they charge extra to hit off grass on the practice tee as I’m from Texas.
Fairways were muni like so don’t expect TPC conditions. Greens were faster than I expected but in fair conditions, only gripe is some golfers don’t repair their ball marks which made the greens bumpy. Most of their ball washers were soapy so A+ for that
Noticed most courses change their hole locations prolly everyday.. imo they should do it only 2x a week unless they have a weekend tournament, scarring leaves greens unattractive.
Pace of play was good, only waited avg of 5min after the 14th hole. Overall it was nice & fun

Great Course

Booked a round for $55 through golfnow which was sweet.
Upon arrival the staff greeted us very warmly & everyone was super helpful & friendly.. & i mean EVERYONE.
The course was in immaculate condition & greens were very fast but fair. Beautiful course but lots of natural ob so bring a few extra balls if your a mid-high handicapper. Few holes with blind shots so best to play conservative if you dont know the course. Management does give attention to the details to make it a very enjoyable round, all the ball washers were soapy & water coolers were cold.
From the bag boys, starters, marshalls , pro shop, were very friendly.. the cart girls always made their rounds to ensure you needed anything. Great service A+++++
I highly recommend the Palmer & resort course

Fun course

Got a great deal through GolfNow, so I decided to play.
got an early tee time but noticed there were a few groups on the first tee so I asked the pro shop attendant if I could tee off the back 9 & said he said sure. So I was really happy about that considering I was the first one off. Got my round going off 10 which I may say is one of my fav holes there which requires an elevated tee shot over a barranca, as I approached my approach shot noticed a herd of deer strolling Through the fairway, if you love nature this is the place to play. After 5 holes i noticed an elder man walking with a push cart, I thought he was playing illegally but turned out he was a member who lives by the Course, so if you see this man he's good to go.
Noticed the Course & greens had some minor patches but overall playable. Had a nice rhythm going considering I didn't warm-up, as the rain started to fall I played my last hole at 3, a 190 par 3. Which I almost holed out for a hole in one. Considering that was the highlight of the day I left the Course on a good note. Def a fun course but know the fairaway do slope & is built around a residential suburb.
Def would recommend to anyone looking for a challenge & a beautiful scenery

Best December Course

This is my second time playing this course in about a year, I was greeted warmly by the pro shop & felt welcomed, there was a slight backup so they gave me a complementary large bucket to warm up. This time I noticed the greens were like a billlboard table & fairways were "winter plush", not green but a smooth brown.
This is a links course with lots of gorse that almost starts as the 1st cut ends, so I recommend bringing extra golf balls, & take consideration the wind it does blow here so try to play when it's down bc you'll def be challenged.
For some reason there was no cart girl driving around & disappointed bc I hadn't eaten anything yet, the only bogey that day. My only gripe is I wish they cleared more junk close to the greens, I had lost a ball on a par 3 and saw it landed just outside the fridge I went to look for it but couldn't. I know most Course designers want to keep everything "natural" but it's no fun losing balls.
All I can say is play to your true handicap (blue & gold tees for the 10+) bc this course will expose your
weakness if you try to hit from the tips.
Overall the Course is challenging & has a great layout,
but wished they cut into more of the gorse so we normal golfers can look for our ball.
But def give the course a try & if you have a tough round the bar & grill at the 19th hole will make you forget it.
Best steaks & cold beer in Texas.

Sad

I have played willowick in the past and I always liked coming here but as of to date I was really disappointed by Course conditions. I understand the drought has affected this Course but no reason why some fairways should be like a dirt road. The greens were subpar at Best.
When I checked in the starter I asked if we could tee off early since we saw nobody on the tee box, he denied my request and I understood thinking the Course was in demand for play. Wrong! I'm like Wow! Can't believe this Course is really in bad shape. If anyone wants to play make it a practice round but by no means have a tournament here. Hope they fix it

Friendly Course

Really enjoyed my round and Windcrest. Starter was very friendly and considerate. The club was in good shape the greens Rolled true. Not an overpowering course but challenging for all skill levels. Water jugs were always field which is nice since some of the high in courses forget to refill theirs. Value for the money was excellent carts were very nice. And when it was beginning to rain this staryer notified when it was time to come in.

Beautiful course

Playing Brackenridge was fun yet challenging to all golf levels. This is one of my fav courses in SA, course is always in immaculate shape & greens roll true. Only thing negative I can say was there's no food & Bev cart girls around which was disappointing. The other thing was it was hot and some water jugs around the course were empty, They need to refill & check then every 6hrs and Ball washers didn't have any water in them. Other than that Brack has the texas golf museum which showcases all the great Texas Legends to Hogan,Nelson, Demarett, kite, Crenshaw etc... Which is a real treat. Not to mention that's where Hogan first turned pro.

So So course

The travel to Concan is nice and pleasant and a great opportunity to take in the Texas Hill country.
there is a road that leads to the course that's hidden so you have to pay attention where your driving, River road I believe.
Once we arrived at the course I was awestruck at the beauty of the surroundings and breathtaking scenery.
They have a great first class practice facility which is nice.
The 19th hole patio has a great view of the landscape.
Once we teed of I had noticed that the fairways were baked & fairways were hard prolly from the lack of rain this time of year. The greens were in excellent shape so they roll true. The bunkers were wet & have rocks in them so I would just pick your ball out from them. This course is not for high handicaps since there is a lot of high rough everywhere so bring extra balls you don't mind losing. The course layout is nice & fair. ae we were driving around the course noticed the golf cart was slow at times and has like a lawnmower like sound motor to it, The cart was just struggling to move on flat areas. I took it to get it switched and the starter told me that there were some carts that were like that. Lucky the next cart we got was much better.
Overall I would say it's a fun course & sceney is worth the trip. But disappointed bc The fairways could've been better.
Not worth the 85 mile trip I'll take out there.
This course has a lot of potential but needs better course maintenance.

First Class course

Booked through golfnow.com with a great price.
Arrived at the course 2 hrs early for breakfast with A spectacular view of the back nine. Waitress greeted us as soon as we came in, served us right away with fresh coffee.
Made our way to the Iron only range which we couldn't use driver to warm up. (That's the only downside I can think of).
Great putting & short game facility.
Starter was friendly & informed us we could tee off earlier which was a nice surprise. Course was in great shape greens rolled true. Really reminds me of Chambers Bay with the flat links & rough. Course is open in the front 9 & a little narrow on the back. Cart girls are friendly and are always around every 3-4holes. 4 sets of tees for all skill levels. White & silver tees look alike so pay attention bc some tee's
Are elevated. Cart & bag drop guys were prompt & friendly.
Overall I enjoyed my experience at the Quarry GC.
Def a must play for any golfer looking for a challenge.
*Note if your ball goes into the rough, forget about it. You won't find it. & make sure you have at least 10-20 in your bag.

Immaculate condition

Played Hyatt Hill country through golfnow.com for $25 and was lucky enough for a early weekend tee time, Course normally charges $110 so I was very fortunate enough to play this 5 star course for 1/4 if he price.
I recommend anyone to play this 27 hole course fun challenge but very fair to all level of handicaps.
If you want to experience what it feels like to hit out of white Augusta bunkers then this course is a treat.. You'll love it here. Bring the family over for a great resort experience as they provide all sorts of outdoor activities.
