Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 03/24/2015Many better places in the valley
While it is a pretty course in decent condition the service and staff seem noticeably below the level that I find at competing courses. Bag drop was unattended and even the provided phone there went unanswered. Even after my partner arranged club rentals and we paid and got out to the pick up area my clubs were still sitting up at bag drop. No water was provided (not even cups) so everything had to be bought and as I recall it was $3 for a bottle of water. Luckily I had a water bottle in my bag and filled it. It seems that playing in the hot desert water of some sort should be readily available. Course itself has a lot of water on it - some a bit too hard for a resort style course I think. Surface conditions on the greens was at best ok with lots of bare/brown spots. It isn't a bad place to play but I would choose any of a large number of competing courses in the area over it.
water is readily available everywhere on both courses. there is ice in every cooler on every cart. free water and cups are available at both snack bars. additionally there is water on every 3rd hole.(no charge) also cups are available at both starter sheds and even the marshalls have cups available
