I really love this course because of the layout but the funky design of the greens and how hard they are makes it's impossible. I'll always continue to play here but make sure you bring your patience and accept that you'll get really unfair bounces.

Course was in pretty good shape. Very tough greens but nice and fast. My advice... stay below the hole!! Beware of very slow play because fivesomes are allowed.

This was my first time playing Ken McDonald and now I wonder why it took me so long! Great course in great condition. The greens were pretty firm but rolled true and very fast.. Loved it!! Having lived in the valley for several years, it's nice to play a tree-lined course rather than the same ole' desert look.

Went out as a single but paired up with a couple nice guys which made the round more enjoyable. Not a bad layout, but it could be in better shape for this time of year. The greens were real slow with inconsistent breaks. However, with the great GolfNow deal it was worth it.

First time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. Has been overseeded and in great shape! Although it's a short course, the greens have some tricky breaks which makes it really fun. Very friendly staff in the pro shop.

This was my 2nd time playing Vistal and it was another good experience. The first good impression came as soon as the outside service guys grabbed our clubs. Very friendly and helpful... the 3rd in our group was running a little late but they were very accommodating to the adjustment. The course was in very good shape for this time of year but they don't overseed so it's probably going to change in a few weeks.

The course was in great condition... fairways and rough are nice and the greens rolled true and at a good speed. The course isn't going through an overseed so that's why its still in great shape for this time of year.
This is one of my favorite city owned courses but I've heard it's been sold and will go through some major changes so get out and play before it's too late!!
**A side note: My son was unknowingly overcharged on the green fee but one of the staff tracked us down on the course to give him a refund... you don't see that kind of service very often. Great job guys!!

This is a fantastic layout and very well maintained. I've played it numerous times and really enjoy it except for the Pro Shop staff. They are very RUDE, uncaring and a don't give dang attitude towards the players. As I said, I've played this course several times and this is not the first time it's happened. Each time I play, I'm hoping the owners will make some changes, but it hasn't happened yet. Here's what happened the last time out: I was paired up with 3 really nice & fun players but after that it went south!!! To start, our tee-time was moved back because another group was shoved in front of us. That group waited until the group ahead of them got on the par 4 green before teeing off. 25 mins later they were already a hole behind. We called the Pro Shop to advise them of what happening and maybe get a marshal out to monitor the situation. Here's the response, and I quote: "Welcome to afternoon golf at Sundance, DEAL WITH IT!!! Need I say more!!!

Awesome! McDowell Mountain rivals some of the more high profile valley courses. Very challenging layout but fair. Due to the lack of rain, the greens are pretty firm but that's the story for most courses in the valley. That said, they rolled very true with a few deceptive breaks which makes it fun. The tee's and fairways were in fantastic shape! We stopped in the bar for a drink after the round and the atmosphere was fun and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to play this gem again!

If you want to play a course that's not tricked up like some courses in the valley this is the one for you. Unfortunately there hasn't been any rain so the greens have really dried out and wont hold any type of shot. Play 1 club less to a back pin and you'll be fine.

You'll love it if you're a beginner. A good practice facility but the range balls are darn near golf balls without dimples so you get some pretty weird ball flights.
