Hidden gem

I’ve been playing this course since it opened back up.
They say to lower your scores you need to work on your short game and putting. Well, these greens are small, and fairways are cut tight. Pin locations are always tough and there will be no straight putts.
It was surprising how much undulations are in these greens. If you are above the hole you will pay! There’s always pros playing here. Like I said a hidden gem!

Great value

I enjoy playing this short par 64 course to work on my game. My tee time was around 7:30 am and I arrived about 7am to hit the range first, but the ball dispensing machine was broke so no warm up. I was
Playing as a single, and I was stuck behind a 3some, but there pace of play was fine, so I stayed behind them.
As I approached the 10th tee box I seen the 3some ahead of me leaving the tee box, but there was now a 2some, an older man and woman getting set to tee off. This is when I started to become annoyed because the pace of there play was extremely slow, and they wouldn't offer for me to play through. As I finished my round I see them tee off on #1. Never will I be a fan of allowing players to start on 10 and hold people up.

Must play

This course is known for emptying your bag of golf balls. Danger around every turn. The risk vs reward leans heavily on a good approach or lay up. Course was in excellent condition. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Not a course for beginners, nor is there an advantage for long hitters. A must play to test all parts of your game!

Surpassed my expectations

Haven't played this course in years. I played a solo round wanting to hone in my long iron play by not using driver off the tips. The fairways were truly in remarkable shape and the greens were thick, rolling at maybe a 10-10.5. I expected the course to be dry and the greens not to hold, but I was wrong! . Like I said, "it surpassed my expectations!

Season golf

Golf course was in good shape. Love the look of brown rough with green fairways and greens. Being season, the driving/practice facilities were packed, and we were put with a coed twosome which slowed down our pace of play.
Greens rolled good, front of greens were cut tight.

Strange design

The front 9, is a typical Georgia layout with tree lined, hilly fairways, deep rough, and bunker guarded greens, which I enjoyed, but the back nine was something completely different. I'm guessing it is supposed to replicate a Links course. The fairways, although wide open, we're difficult to distinguish from the rough. If the fairways were watered and green, I probably would've enjoyed it more. A good all around course.

A welcomed addition to the area!

I have played this course multiple times because it gives you a true test of your skill. It is a true palmer design with large undulating greens that test your ability to land on the proper tier or you are punished. Even though fairways have a large landing area it really depends on which tees you are using. Many tee shots are blind and you should use the in-cart GPS to help select the right club. Most holes either have water or bunkers lining the fairways. The only negative I have is the pace of play! Rangers need to speed up high handicap golfers or instruct them to let faster player through! This is a must play before it becomes private.
