Pure delight

The course is in pristine conditions as they know what they're doing. Fact: yesterday they were week waking near the greens and the grounds crew shut off the trimmer every time one of us was addressing the ball...greatest crew ever. The course has some real tricky holes that make it enjoyable every time. #10 is a long stretching double dogleg hole that has you targeting a covered bridge..the views and wildlife leave you wanting to come back the next day. It's a must play course if you're in the area and don't want to pay the $150 rates at Grand Geneva.

Must play back 9 Oaks

This is a course in limbo as they have a great 9 holes and the rest of the course is strange. Let's just say $10 was what I would pay for 27 holes and I'd pay $30 for the 9 holes on the back of the Oaks. Small greens and no defined tee boxes. So if you're looking to work on your game this would be better than a driving range.

Spring outing delights 120 golfers

They really know how to put on an event...range balls and dinner included for $56 was a great deal as the food was great and the staff was top notch. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed the course as they had nice elevations with good fairways. I agree that the tee boxes needed help and the pace was 6 hours with the outing that was maxed out. This is a must play a few times a year as the track was fun and the sand comes into play a lot. Greens were a bit slow but the breaks and contour was spot on. Five eagles made during the outing so there chances to score well...I also love that the houses on the course are out of the way and you're not playing out of someone's yard at all. Great pro shop as they couldn't fit another item in and the selection was great on clothes and clubs.

Second time will be my last

I waited a few weeks for the greens to grow and I'm back again to try the track out. The greens are in finally but the divots from the players are abundant. My suggestion might be to move the pins as there wasn't much movement from the last time I had played. At one point i was forced to move my ball as a chunk was taken out of the green. Hole number 5 plays 152 from the green tees and the ball marks were equal to a green that has a 100 yard elevation yet there's only a small elevation. Another green on the back side had a strip of yellow grass in the green. Again it's early so they still have months to get ready for people paying over $90 a round. Enough about the greens...lets talk about going 14 holes on a Saturday without seeing a drink cart...I'm not going to go on and on about the service in the Lake Geneva area but everything from the minute you get out of your car to the time you leave is memorable and the courses match the experience. Pick a 9 and enjoy every shot

This course just gets every time I play it...The conditions are over the top great. My complement to the grounds crew as this place is always at the top of my list. The T-boxes are perfect and the rest of the course matches. Great risk and reward shots throughout the course...you'll want to play over and over as they just do a great job here. Food is a bonus as it's great and the prices are average for the area. Pace is another bonus and you just pick a 9 and there's not a better one to pick as they all have great holes to play. Thanks again for continuing to make this course so enjoyable.

Maintenance Needed...overpriced

I wish I could give a great review as I gave them a chance to reply to me before I went with this review. They didn't have time to comment back so I'm giving you what I saw. This being my first time I had high expectations as I had heard it was a great course. Let me start with the last guys comments...the greens are un puttable at this time and they're asking for $70 to pay for the cart I guess. They are Chinese Checkerboards and that's being generous...I had a putt take a right turn 12" before the hole. I've been on aerated greens before but never like this. How could they even open unless they haven't played the course they're charging for....maybe the owners are down south yet? Good luck to all that play here as there is winter kill all around the greens too. I've played a dozen courses in the state already and none of them as bad as this one. You might even ask if the sand traps are raked before starting as this didn't happen either. The overall presentation of the holes are great as the back nine plays much differently then the front. Great course but lacks in maintenance for the price. The bar and clubhouse are great although 4 of the 8 beers listed on the menu didn't exist. Again it's only April and maybe by late July the greens will come in but from the comments of prior years I'm not holding my breath. Lake Geneva courses are nearly 10 times better so I guess I'm spoiled with great conditions. I'm taking this off of my "must play again" list as I've seen enough.

You Can't help but love this facility...course

Great again year after year....this track will challenge you but it's a bit less challenging this year...brush is cut down and leaves are not in play. The par 3's are some of the best in the state as you need to try the back tees to really enjoy the elevations. The staff is top notch and the grounds crew has to be one of the best in the state as you'll find some of the best greens and sand traps around. The give Geneva National a run for the money as they don't charge as much and the course is just as fun to play. If your driving play all the Geneva courses and you'll find yourself playing this one again. Special Note: the friday night fish fry is great and the corn fritters are a must try.

A few fun holes

This course plays extremely long if you don't choose the right tee box...you could have to carry 250 to clear water. Great condition and it had a few dog legs to shoot over water. I was lucky to play with a guy that had played the course..Also saw five alligators by different green so be aware of your surroundings. Club house is new and small and the golfnow rate of 31 was about right....enjoyable but not memorable..

Nothing to remember

This had to be the most boring golf course I've played in Naples. It lacks everything as the water was everywhere but never in play..It was behind the tee boxes. The fairways were footage field s that had the feeling of being on a driving range...Greens had perfect condition but getting to them was too easy. Don't waste your time on this one....great pro shop though.

18 great holes but I enjoyed the 19th too

This place is better than ever....the pace of play was increased with all the areas cleared out to find balls quickly. The greens again were in perfect condition and the fairways were cut just right. We played the Blue to White to find open holes because it was getting late. This course has many tough holes and a few of them are must plays if you're out here. #2 and #5 on the White are some of the toughest holes and You have to play #4 and #18 on the Blue...#18 can carry water and it's a great finishing hole for any round...dogleg left and you'll want to cut the water if you can. Sunday's pin placements were in areas I've never seen them so again I love that they'll move things around as if the course isn't already tough enough. The course gives you the feeling of being up north in the woods on many of the holes and the prices can't be beat. The 19th hole has a great tv/eating area and the girls are..... lets gust say the hiring manager should get a raise...lol Thanks again to all for making this a truly excellent course.

They've even left golf now because of poor reviews

Stay away and don't let them take your time of day away. The staff is rude and the marshals are worse...They will ruin your time and make you wish you hadn't given them a dollar for this trailer park golf course.

I reviewed a number of times because I only live 10 min away and had free golf but it's not worth the free golf. I'm sure they wish they wouldn't have been so rude and unprofessional to a golfer.

They've stepped up their Game...and it shows

I'm sure with the pressure of courses around the area they've decided to invest in a truly great course...Summit and Meadow. The comments about tee boxes is completed, as all the tee boxes are fixed and they now have a new machine air-rating the boxes today...great work. Now to mention the course as the doglegs are fun to play and the elevations are fantastic. It's a course you'll want to play again and again...I was rained out after nine and drove back at 5pm to play the other nine because it's just that kind of course. The staff gave me a raincheck when they didn't have to but that's just the kind of place this is. They treat you like great neighbors. As mentioned #4 is drivable as you go right over the sand trap to roll down the hill and onto the blind green...a must play hole. #9 has you high atop the summit to send a ball out over the hill and drop it 140 yds away. The greens are the best as I had 12 2-putts and under...Not fast but they roll true. I can't say enough about the staff that has maintained this gem...they are now cutting diagonals on the fairways...is the PGA coming? Bonus secret: I went to the pro-shop for lunch and they now have pretzel bun Brats....Wow! Again check this course out as it's a great layout for the price.

Another "Must Play" course

I hadn't been here in 15yrs and what the course has turned into is truly remarkable. The maturity of the course is great along with the perfect conditions. This course has a few holes that are truly one of a kind holes that will take your breath away. Finishing on a dogleg left is crazy and a real challenge. The staff is to be commended for keeping this course up as they have over the years. Not to mention are the greens that have perfect speed and conditions. You won't be disappointed at one of the most picture-ous golf courses in the state of wisconsin. The membership feel is there but they make you feel welcome and for that I thank you. Extra: The proshop is over the top too as of the best in wisconsin.

What happened? This course needs a makeover!

Let's just say $10 was a great price but for those of you that paid more you should be looking for a rain check. I can only hope the aeration fixes some of the greens and fairways....You would have thought 1000 people had just played ahead of me. When the sand traps have tractor tires going through the middle of them and tee boxes are torn up beyond repair it's time to either close the course or lower the prices. Thus, $10 was just about right but requiring a collared shirt was a bit much....I'm thinking a white tank top would have compared to the condition. Not to mention the number of geese that have now made #8 their home for the winter. I agree with the others on 12-14 couldn't have been designed by anyone...they just don't fit with the rest of the course. There are a number of great hole but I don't understand the higher price for playing this course...Arnie must just get a bigger cut. Note: Play from the Golds if you want a challenge. Now let's talk about the ladies tee's..Arnie must not have had their tee boxes mapped on the course as they placed them on the other sides of fairways 85 yard up ahead. My wife actually had no shot off of 2-5 as they had trees in front of the tee boxes....I'd never seen anything like it..as my wife hits the ball 210-240 off the tee and she found herself 80 yds away on just about every second shot...this needs to change as it was almost laughable with some of her advantages. This must keep the members happy as they really don't tolerate slow play here. Well I'm rambling on now so I'll just tell you to play Trevino or Player before venturing out on this course. If you want perfect fairways check out Hawksview....they still have greenskeepers working instead just winterizing.

Great course even at 32 degrees

Perfect conditions today although the greens are still sandy from the air-ration. I played from the Blues today as the length is just right if you like more elevated tee boxes. The greenskeepers need to be commended for hiding when I was on the green...they actually we always out of my sight line when I was chipping and putting...bravo. No leaves on the course as they continued to blow them off the pristine fairways. My only beef with the course is Hole #18 as it just feels like a wide open driving range hole that opens up to an easy green....I would have loved a dog-leg or water to finish on but again it's my favorite course in the area. I rank it in the top 3 as I like the Geneva National courses a bit better. Thanks again for the $9 play in the cold....great deal.

Unfriendly course

They have a squadron of Marshals that have full command of the course with walkie talkies....like a swat team with a commander at the clubhouse. Having three nines is a little troublesome as you will play what they tell you to play to maximize their "turns" or numbers through the course. I recently tried to post a comment on their own site and it's next to impossible as they only want to know how their fish fry tastes and how the bar was. Just read their scorecard as they are ready to put you in jail for even thinking of bringing bottled water into the course. The other annoying part of the course is the gas carts as you'll hear them during the round as we were met by marshals on nearly every two holes. You just feel like your being watched for no apparent reason. This all stems from the time the head pro chewed my son and I out for having two carts with only two golfers yet we paid for both carts. Enough said as there are so many nicer courses in the area so you can drive by this one on your way to Lake Geneva....Hawks View or Geneva National.... Good luck if you do find yourself here. I just noticed that GolfNow changed their comment section as you can't recommend courses in the area...lol I'm sure the courses being commented on didn't like the advertising for other courses.....Play Geneva National (Palmer Course or Trevino)

I recommend this course to my friends and their friends

Let's just say I'm in love with this course as it's just fun to play. The dog legs are tough and the par threes are fun to play over and over. If you like elevation up and down than this is the place to golf. Today they even had the gigantic leaf blower out blowing the fairways clear. Last week they air-rated and you really cant tell as the greens were good enough for fall play. A few tee boxes are beat up but the course plays tough with 500+ par 5's that are nearly impossible to drive in two but you'll want to try. The staff is the best as they have the keys ready to send you out on Golf now...just a first name and you're good to go. You get done and the guy is right there telling you to leave it there and hope you enjoyed your round. It's a must play if you're not from the area and if you are then you'll see me there because I'm playing there twice a week now.

10 years later and they've only change the hole #s

You guessed it....#10 is now #1 and I was lost the entire time. I liked the change as I understand they can get more people to stop at the clubhouse by having it end in the front of the clubhouse and not the parking lot. They totally renovated the clubhouse and it really works for the space. Now for the good, the bad and the ugly. The greens had areas that needed work and some of the greens are just unfair with the pitch and mounds. Hole #13 has a 3ft mound that had to put over... I should have used a wedge to get closer to the pin....all it needs is a "windmill". The course is in need of change as it gets boring without doglegs. Number #12 is worth playing the course as it's a challenging dogleg around the water. The sand traps might be the best in the state and there are plenty of them. It's worth a once a summer play until they change a few of the holes up.

You'll want to replay certain holes

This course is great and I recommend it to all if you enjoy multiple elevations. Today I played from the blue and enjoyed the course even more. There are two par threes that play 200ft in the air from the green. I love #4 as you can see your shot all the way down to the hole. Yet number nine plays only 135 yard and you just hit the ball out over the tree tops and hope that it lands on the green. They have many blind shot greens so drives off the tees are tricky. The cart girl is always out and the food at the turn was great. Thanks again Alpine as I'll be back next week.

Has a driving range feel

If you like playing back and forth and yelling "FOUR" or hearing it then this is the place for you. As told by others there are holes that require hard hats. Tight fairways playing next to each other do not work. They just need to bulldoze the course under and start over. Most of the spring four holes will be under water from the river yet you'll pay the same to play. It's like a backyard with flags on postage stamp greens. The part of the course is in the bar...the burgers are great.
