Strawberry Farms Golf Club

Played blue tees, 3200+ on front 9 Back 9 tight with sloping fairways. Blind shots which need course knowledge.
Oak Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2019Enjoyed!
Though greens are recovering from aeration, they weren't bad to putt on and still maintained their speed
River View Golf Course
Played On 04/16/2018Diabolical!
Don't think I have ever played a course with such a layout. It was difficult on many holes to actually know where the fairway was or where the landing target is for your tee shot. The course winds and twists and crosses and re-crosses the Santa Ana River. I do not know how one would cross some holes if the river bed was not dry. The course does not lack for elevated greens which once you locate them , hitting to them and judging distance based on their elevation becomes a true guessing game. Most fairways need attention and grass, yet the greens are impeccable and in great condition. I would recommend more signs to lead you to the next tee box and some fairway target poles to give you an idea where to aim your tee shot. With all that being said, my wife and I found the course to be challenging and interesting, especially with 20 mph winds. You may need a guide to navigate it but once you have played it and get a feel as to where to aim and go, its a very unique experience.
Champions Club At The Retreat
Played On 04/21/2017A real test
Where do I begin, from hole#1 to the finish it was an amazing test of golf skill. Amazing views, even more amazing and challenging holes. Thinking if you hit a very good tee shot you would breathe easier but not so. Wonderfully protected and elevated greens, multi-bunkered with amazing elevation changes, this is a supreme test of golf. Though the greens were recently aerated they still rolled true if not at their peak speed. (thank God!) If you want a round with amazing photo opportunities, dazzling hole views and elevations and a test of your skills ,this is the place.

Pleasantly surprised. Course was in superb condition. Original home of Bob Hope Desert Classic. Excellent value for the money and well-worth a visit.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 10/26/2016Great course, golf cart shut-ff annoying
Beautiful layout, challenging but fair. Golf cart shut off when you approach greens unrealistic. My cart on some holes shut down 60 yards out and if you leave cart path toward the rough it also shuts down. Best solution: signs to indicate "Proceed no farther in this direction or cart will shut down".
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 10/15/2015A walk down memory lane!
We played the North course as the South was one week away from opening for the season. Maybe for that reason, it looked as if it was not being looked after or that it was about to be closed for winter over-seeding etc. The course layout was old school with some water and strategically placed traps. The bunkers on the back nine had recently been re-filled with soft sand as opposed to the more dirt like front nine bunkers. Again, this course will probably be closed in the near future. As played at this particular time, I would say it was over-priced. To be fair, the South course maybe in better shape. The only open restaurant is across the street at the South course. The North restaurant has been closed for a couple of years.
Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
Played On 05/28/2015A challenge!
Play this course every time I visit the Palm Springs area. It is a classic course with beautiful views, challenging holes and fast greens. My wife and I played the front nines of the South and North courses as the back nines were being aerated, so we did not get to play the island green. However, still a wonderful round of golf and it takes your "A" game to score consistently on this track. It will require those who do not hit it straight to bring extra golf balls because between the desert and the water, balls can be easily lost. Given that, it is a "must" play at least once adventure.
Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 05/27/2015First time GEM
Have played lots of courses in the valley but never the Palms Course here at the JW Marriott resort. What a delight! Generous fairways, very fair course set up from the white and red tees. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it as did I. The only slightly downer was the slowness of the greens. This probably due to there being aerated in the past month, because though you couldn't see the sand , you could hear it. We have booked it to play again on Friday. :)
Willowick Golf Course
Played On 03/03/2015Will do in a pinch
Nice little local course. It's best feature is its greens which putted true with good speed for the average golfer. Also, short par 4's and 5's give the average golfer a good chance of scoring well. Back nine a bit more scenic than the front. Grass driving range was a plus.
Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course
Played On 02/18/2015Will do in a pinch
Got a terrific price on Golf Now, so decided to try it out. Close to home so very convenient. Fairways and tee boxes fair with some dirt spots and muddy areas from sprinklers not rain. Back 9 much better for overall appeal and looks. Good course for high handicappers with generous landing areas and short par 4's. Greens were very good and much better than the condition of the overall course. Not much sand in bunkers. Finished course in 4 1/2 hours. Staff very friendly and make you feel welcome.
San Juan Hills Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2014Humbled!
I am an 8 handicapper. When I play a course for the first time I always give it respect and play the white tees. Seeing that the yardage from the whites was under 6000 yards, I decided to play the 6300 yards of the blue tees. The elevated greens easily added 200 yards to that total. However, the most difficulty was playing not only the fast greens but how they turned and sloped. In many cases, the pin placements were diabolical and when your ball is about to die at a hole, but the green takes it for a ride off the green or when you putt up the slope and the ball comes up short, then rolls back past where you putted from, well that eliminates fairness from the equation. Having said that, I cant wait to go back and try harder and do better. Challenging is putting it mildly, this is a course that commands your respect. The scenery from the elevated tee boxes is also worth you paying a visit to this course. The only downside was the pace of play which I am certain is caused by the difficulty many will find in putting these greens. Three putts are the norm, four or more putts NOT unusual.
Escena Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2013This is exceptional value and excellent course
From arrival to departure, 5 star treatment. Great course with forgiving wide fairways but with many elevated greens to make it challenging. Played a week before the course was to close for over-seeding for fall/winter play and it was still in great condition. Make this course a must play!
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

Lived up to its name. Everything first class from driving range to course layout. A definite must play.
Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa - Pete Dye Resort Course

Course close to closing for winter over-seed but still challenging and in very good condition. A pleasure to play and will do so again. Play it if you have a chance.
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 09/16/2013could have been a contender!
Maybe it was the time of day 3pm arrival for a 3 33 tee time. Course was empty, heat might have been the reason 106. However, the bar was closed as was any chance of getting any food (chef had gone home) Only potato chips available. No water or ice on carts. Water very 4 holes. In that temperature that borders on survival training. We played 9 holes and called it quits. It was more surviving 9 holes than playing them. Course definitely needs to staff its food /bar if it knows it has guests scheduled. At the least provide courtesy food/drink if they know only a few people are scheduled for late play. As for the course, it appeared to be a good track but in all fairness hard to rate given the conditions
Lakes Course at Genoa Lakes Golf Club
Played On 6/26/2013beautifully maintained with friendly staff
Played at 2pm so wind was challenging. If you want calmer conditions play earlier in the day. As a two some played the course in 3 hrs 15 mins. Water and marshes come into play even from blue tees. Greens were receptive and moderate in speed.
The Hills Course at Red Hawk
Played On 6/25/2013well maintained and a fair test of golf skills.
Played on a rainy day but course held up well. Greens were moderate speed even when wet. Nice layout.
