Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 04/04/2022Frequent Flyer
Play this almost every time I visit Scottsdale. Close to my condo, great staff, course has had great playing conditions. Not long, 6300 from the tips. This trip, got out early enough so that we only caught the ladies golf groups on hole 18, so pace was just over 3. Could easily have been 4+ had we teed off a few minutes later.
Usually this course is a great value. Forgiving of errant shots, greens playable. Though the course is as good as I have ever played, the rates in 2022 are a tad above their value. But, like everything in 22, if you think you can get it, go ahead and ask. And it appears, people are still paying. Will try again my next trip out.

Wanted a change from some of the central Scottsdale courses, so found a reasonable deal thru GolfNow ($90, mid march, peak season), and gave it a go. Facilities are great, Staff was very friendly and helpful directing us around the course. They included a small bucket if balls on their "irons only" range, which helped work out the stiffness. We were out early (7:15), and played as a twosome. Caught up to a foursome on 3, and they promptly waved us through. Not expected, but a huge thank you! Course was on the short side. We played the 2nd longest tees (Blue) at about 6200 since it was our first time, and I am a high handicapper. Knocked out the front 9 in 1:15, and finished 18 in about 2:45. Sounds like this is not the norm, as it got very busy later in the am. Ranger says they pushed through over 250 the day before. As other reviewers said, the greens are very fast, so stay below the hole. Lots of 2 and 3 putts on the back 9, since we were usually aiming for, and lucky enough to hit, the center of the green. Scores reflected the challenging greens, but we still had a great time. Fairways are tight, but forgiving enough to not frustrate even a duffer like me. Very scenic course with mountain views on almost every hole. 16 is a treat! We will definitely put this course on our list to play next time we are in the area.

Play it every spring while in the area. Staff is great, the course was in good playing condition. It is forgiving, but as challenging as you want, based on the set of tees. Not the longest course by any means, but when you haven't played all winter, it's a great course to "work out the kinks" without breaking the bank like so many other courses. I think we paid $80 thru GolfNow, which in March in Scottsdale qualifies as a deal. Played in under 4 hours, early am tee time, as a foursome. No Complaints.

Played On 03/24/2017Not a Desert Course
An old Orange Plantation, soi hear, this course is all grass. Fairways are fair, not too narrow, and enough rough to keep an errant shot still in play, and not in someones yard. Course was in great shape. Played just after sunrise, so first few holes play directly into the sun. Greens had dew until late on the way out, but when dry, were quick but fair. Staff was great, no complaints with any of them. Ranger was friendly, and since the three of us played faster than average, he had no reason to have issues with us. No group in front of us to slow us down, which was great. 330, 345 18 hole pace today in our group.

The staff could not have been more accommodating, the course was in excellent shape, and we finished well under 4 hours. I dont know what happened with a few other reviewers, but I cant believe we played the same course and were served by the same staff. I cant say enough great things about the golf experience. The course is challenging but forgiving. Not a walking course, as there is some distance between a few holes, but still had a great pace of play. I played in March of '15, had a similar experience, and looked forward to playing this year. Was not disappointed. Thank You. I hope to be back in '18.
