Hillcrest Golf Public

One thing that's nice is to be able to find a course open to public play at an affordable price this time of the year. The snowbirds are back and for us full-time residents finding a place to play at an affordable price gets tougher. The condition of the course was okay to good, the fairways playable and greens rolled good. There is a notice on each golf cart apologizing for the cart paths that are going through a two hundred thousand dollar renovation, which looks a lot more like just tearing up the old asphalt & doing a very poor job of re-seeding the ground where the path was. They have done the same where there use to be fairway bunkers. All in all though for $38.00 a player it's a good deal and I like a bunch of the holes & the way the course is laid out. Another plus is a refreshment cart and beverages at a good price .... overall I'd give the whole experience a seven, and at that price I'll play it again ... thanks Vince S

Beautiful Afternoon

Some friends and I wanted to sneak out and play some golf at a course I've played many times. With it being peak season and all the snowbirds back in town finding a good deal as well as a good test of golf, Grandview fits this bill perfectly. If your willing to pay the bigger bucks you can go between 8:00 AM to about 12:30 PM for $57.00 a player. If you don't mind waiting till after 1:30 PM the price drops to about $39.00 a person. The course was in good shape with a really fun lay-out. The greens were a little slow but that's to be expected at this time of the year. The gentlemen working in the Pro shop work their tails off ... this place is pretty busy, and pace of play was okay about 4 hours & 15 minutes. A little under staffed in the restaurant so it takes a little time to get food or an ice cold beer, but we enjoyed ourselves. I know I'll be playing it a bunch more through the winter, sincerely Vince S
