About
I like to go for it more often than not ...I think that if you don't challenge yourself you don't grow and improve! Playing for your scorecard may take a couple of strokes of but where's the challenge !!! It's not all about the handicap! I can play a par 3 course in 4 or 5 over...going for the green over water at 180 yards from the fairway instead of laying up, thats me....

This course is always in good shape, especially the greens. The online complaint I have is that the rough is usually 4 to 5 inches high, and you can hit a good shot 3 feet of the fareway, , and loose your ball, 5 feet left or right long or short of the green and never find it. Outside of that it is a great value and fun to play, with a challenge on every hole.

The course was in decent shape but there was about half the back nine fairways were aerated during today or late yesterday. They were sanding and dragging them, so l think they aerated this am. No one mentioned that they were aerating. Never had this happen before. The course is very up and down. You were either hitting uphill with a steep sideways slant or downhill with a sideways slant . If you hit it down the middle you consistently end up in the rough. Kitchen was closed, even though it was very busy, Hope you like hotdogs...
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Lochmere Golf & Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Played On 12/08/2020Where's the Rye ?
Most decent courses overseed in November with winter blend rye grass. This course had sparse cover on the fairways, and barespots and disease on the greens. Not every green, but quite a few. For a course in a golf community with a private sister course I have to assume all the funds go to the private course. Also was surprised that the driving range was for members only. Had try drive cart about a half mile to the 1st tee. Obviously it is set up to cater to the members.

Everyone should play here once. Like a course should be, you are rewarded for staying in the fairway. The rough is short enough you can find your ball, but long enough to make you go up a club. The lodge /pro shop is special and a must see. Built partially of stone with a massive turret, it is beautifully set against the Presidential Range.

If you want breathtaking views beautiful mountains as your backdrop, and challenging holes dropped in you need to play Maplewood. And a Par 6 16th hole I have birdied twice !!! The lodge/ clubhouse is a special stone fronted Victorian era masterpiece. Must see and play....

Played On 06/27/2018Greens great, Tees not so much
Course is in remarkable shape considering the winter weather. Tees however, have on a few holes, been placed on temporary sites. The rough is very dense and I couldn't find a ball again in 4" grass. Only 3 flat holes, like a lot of NH couses, you are playing uphill or down....
Thank you for playing our course and providing some constructive criticisms regarding a subset of our tees. You may have noticed that we do have some temporary tees in play as we are working to make improvements to a few of our tees that don't get the ideal growing conditions that are necessary. We hope to see you again.

Played On 06/13/2018Early Season Great Greens
Pleasantly surprised by the overall condition of the course ,especially the greens, considering the amount of snow last winter. Greens were fast and "green". Rough could be shorter,(lost 2 balls close to fairway cut ), because of 4 to 5 inch tall thick grass. Great North Country facility as long as you like holes that are either uphill or down.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to play our course. We have been fortunate to have some of if not the best greens in Central NH as you pointed out after a tough winter and challenging drought season that followed. We admittedly do have some challenging roughs at our course. Thank you for your recommendation.

Cheap price, but in play area you are in the weeds...literally, the course has been totally neglected, weeds in all the bunkers, no sand, just weeds, and barely any grass on the greens, which were hard to put a line sometimes...back nine was a little better but basically the same....good news there was only 2 twosome on front so we played the back nine alone, had lunch, food is still good, and then played front alone, had a carefree round, with no one in front no one behind all day....

Excellent layout by" the King", have played here quite a few times but never after 5+" of rain the day before. Cart path only was the rule, but many spots the cart path was under 8 or 10" of water. By the turn it was dryer but still not drive on ready. Greens and fairways are in very good shape and you can look at each hole and envision what Arnie had in mind, as his Orlando course does, good shots are rewarded, poor ones you will pay for. Being locals we were extra careful at any of the multitude of free standing spots of water that were not normal. Our vigilance paid off at the 2nd hole where a rather large cottonmouth was resting on the edge of some new water, and again on the 18th where the cart path was under water at the elbow and guarded by a copperhead. Glad I have a 14' ball retriever! Lol

Played On 02/07/2018Well laid out
Course was in decent condition, the overseeing had not caught on very well, probably because of the severe cold snap. Not very green, but fairways were well groomed and the rough short enough to play fairly easily. Fairly difficult course layout. Lots of places where water sneaks on to fairways and you need to be very aware before every approach shot. I was surprised the in cart GPS didn't have more information. Challenging layout, seemed like back nine was easier but greens on both sides were in great shape and fast...

Went into the pro shop to see if I needed to register, and the gal on the desk was on the phone. So I stood there waiting. She never even looked my way to acknowledge I was there or she would be right with me.Waited for 3 or 4 minutes of being ignored and left for my cart parked outside the door. 10 minutes later our Tee time is up we head to Tee. She sends the cart guy out to get me to come back and register! So I go back inside and she is on the phone, now there are 6 people lined up, another fellow there who can't help anyone because she keeps saying don't touch the screen missed my t and she threatened to not let us play.....

The course was in perfect condition. Every hole you are reminded of where you are and who designed this gem. It was a drizzly day but nothing could dampen my feelings of excitement . In fact it took 2 holes to settle down and play good golf. If you get the chance, and can afford the price, check this one off your "bucket list ".

Played On 12/04/2017Golf For All
This is a fun course, with plenty of challenges for all ability players. The fairways and greens are in good shape but the bunkers are not. Many are unplayable so I simply didn't...but this seems to be becoming more and more common here at Daytona area courses. Outside of that, and a couple of bald tee boxes, the course is in good shape and fun to play !

Played On 11/29/2017Great if you like course management challenges
Difficult course layout, 4 or more bunkers on every hole ,never saw so many fairway bunkers. Found myself using clubs other than driver off the Tee because of the course layout and number of bunkers in play. Overall a very challenging layout. Not for differs. Surprisingly busy for such a difficult layout, but it is the only municipal course around.

With a little TLC this could be a great course to play. As it is it has great challenge , just needs the tee boxes re seeded and fungus on the greens treated.
