Hilly Haven Golf Course

Played on warm but windy day. For late March the course is in great shape. Greens were fast. Had been cut. Staff is always friendly. I had made tee time on line for the wrong day. My bad. But they made our group welcome and we were able to play. NICE.

Played the Oaks course. Greens were fast. Fairways were pretty lush.

Played for the second time in 3 days. Course is in good shape on the fairways. Greens are a bit bumpy. Lots of wildlife. Played as a twosome in 3 1/2 hours.
Oaks at Palm-Aire Country Club

WAs scheduled to play the Oaks course but the starter said it was pretty busy. Sent me off the Cypress course instead. I got paired up with 2 singles. We had a great time. Course was in good shape. Plenty of grass on the fairways. Greens were a bit slow, but true.

Played the course for the 4th time. Good price on Golf Now, but the course even did better. A fun layout with some water in play on a few holes. Paired with a fun partner. Greens are big and a bit tough to read. Seemed a bit slow this round. Some tee boxes were mostly sandy dirt. Only saw the cart person once in 18 holes.

A fun layout. Elevated greens mean you must get the ball all the way to the green. Played at 1:45 and paired with a friendly couple. Course was busy, but the pace of play was slooow. One twosome ahead of our group quit after 5 holes. Waited on every tee box and shot. Foursome in front had no idea of “ready golf”.

Second time playing the Cypress course. Played in early Dec 2016. Greens are great. Big and smooth. Tee boxes are a bit rough. Hard to find grass on some. Fairways are much better. Lots of water around, but only two holes where it comes into play. Friendly staff and playing as a single, I have been paired both times with fun and friendly partners.
Rock River Country Club
Played On 07/10/2014Dual Personality course
Very challenging course. Front nine is newer and a tight links style. Long and straight shots are a must. The Back 9 is a tight mature treed track with narrow fairways and overhanging tree limbs to snare your shot. 17 is a bit quirky for the first time player. All in all a great experience. Good shape considering the heavy rain this season. Greens are fast, very fast, but fair.

Played On 04/06/2014Tough layout for first time players
Played on Sunday before the Masters. Cloudy, damp day. Pace of play was fine. Course was in good early spring shape. Tough track when playing it for the first time. Many blind shots. Lots of elevation changes. Greens were a challenge. Front nine was much harder than the back.
