I was surprised how uncrowded the course was until I got to the first green and realized they had just aerated and sanded. To compensate, they had installed the pie-plate holes. Also, and it may be attributable to Irma, the water stank like what dogs love to roll in. Other than that, the course was in great shape and I had nine pie-plate-aided pars.

We had stopped playing Deer Run because the greens had deteriorated to the point that it wasn't even golf anymore. Recently, they've been sending out emails claiming that their greens are completely redone and beautiful, so I played a round just to check it out. They are absolutely right! I don't know how they did it, but their greens are now the best in town. They have lots of undulations, but they roll so true I was dropping bombs right and left. And at the GolfNow rates, the value can't be beat. We're playing there again tomorrow.
