Grandview GREAT COMBINATION

The course is always in great shape. If I could putt I'd be dangerous. The Pro Shop Staff is very friendly. Great place to enjoy a round of golf.

Mistake Coming Here

Thought I would try a course in Scottsdale as I live in the Sun City Grand area.. What a mistake. Most of your shots are on the green, these bordered on unputtable. No water on the course, beverage truck seen twice. Each hole looks like the other. Rather mundane design, sand traps were filled with grass around the edges and the sand was either too deep in some and not enough in others. I paid 66 dollars for this! Was my main thought throughout the round. I drove 45 minutes for this? Will not be coming back. I can drive 10 minutes and play a more challenging course with conditions that are far better than this cow pasture.

Dumb it down

I used to love playing the Gold course but since they completed a Tom Lehman renovation I'm not so sure.

They removed quite a few sand traps and essential made it a easy muni. The greens are in horrible condition but they just punched them a few weeks ago to be fair. I couldn't hold a shot as everything I sent had a ton of roll out. Mind you 1 play from the Orange tees and they were well up. I'm 67 yo and play to about a 6 but I shot my lowest round on the gold 76 with virtually no problem. I realize what they are trying to do but to me I preferred the old GOLD as opposed to the NEW GOLD. I like to have to think.

Easy muni....and you say you are a 5-9 handicap? I am an advanced golfer, and found this course challenging if played from the tips.

Cimarron

Course was fun to play but perhaps that was due to the fact that I was paired up with three ladies. I was serious at the beginning but got pulled out of my game by the funny repartee". The ladies didn't hold me up and actually played pretty fast. Started @ 0600 and were done by 0950. Course is 63 hundred and some change from the white tees. Shot 38-37 and should have been in the 60's. The greens were virtually un puttable due to some fungus or moss. Looked like Chambers Bay. I liked the Par 3's challenging and with some places not to be.. Par 4's were challenging and the Par 5 were long enough and well trapped. The 18th is a great finishing hole. Will play again.
