Coldwater Golf Club
Played On 11/24/2017Basic Starter Golf Course
I have absolutely no idea how this course received a 4.5 average. Okay to be fair the course was in pretty good condition. I thought the greens had been plugged and sanded in the last 2 weeks, but upon asking it had been 2 months. The greens were not bad, medium speed with some undulation. The putting clocks were small and very slow not representative of the greens. Not good. Very few hazards. Good condition of the fairways. Absolutely no ambiance between the houses just big ugly empty ditches. Not a single marshal and a very slow 5 hour round on a very easy course. First timers and newbees should be fine here. Better golfers save your round for a much better course.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 03/17/2017Very Good Layout
The course was in fine shape from tee box to green. It was hot 95 in the afternoon and the greens were fairly fast, they were also pretty firm and as such was hard to get to ball to stop on the green sometimes. The fairways and rough are mown tight. There is some water on the course, and bunkers on most fairways and around each green. It's worth the play.
Dub's Dread Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2014A Pleasent Surprise
I haven't played this course for years. Back in the day when American Golf owned the course the conditions deteriorated. Not so today. The course was in excellent condition from tee to green. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the maintenance, the bunkers were in fabulous condition with good depth of well conditioned sand. Fairways were superb and the rough while lush wasn't cut to high as to cause a great deal of difficulty finding the ball. The greens were nice and smooth, consistent in speed, and receptive to a good shot (a bit soft which is not a bad thing). I genuinely like this layout with a good balance of difficulty, this layout uses the terrain very well asking for both fades and draws. This course is walkable. It is well worth the time to give Dub's a shot.
Quintero Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2014Fabulous Layout
This is a real golf course. Well maintained, terrific lay out. Good variety of tees to allow all handicaps to have fun on this course. Firm fast greens with plenty of room for a variety of pin placements. Well bunkered fairways and greens with consistent sand. Fabulous scenery, friendly and knowledgeable staff. When you play this course don't bit off too much the first time (play up), learn the course and enjoy the round.
Lookout Mountain Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2014Semi-resort course
After the first 2 or 3 holes I was wondering why I chose to play this course, but then the course went up into Lookout Mountain and became fun and interesting with some very nice vistas. Decent layout, fair conditions, surprisingly fast greens. Some fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers. I'd bet this thing plays very slow in season.
Deer Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/02/2014Great Condition
I haven't played this course in years. The layout is excellent and the course condition very good. The greens were smooth and fast, fairways well maintained and the rough not too tall. The bunkers are well positions in the fairways and around the greens with plenty of soft sand. There are lots of fairway yardage markers and the course supplies a yardage book which is very well done with all bunkers listed. Red, white and blue flags mark the pin position.
