Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course
Played On 02/01/2018Better to find another course!
Quite honestly, this was the most unhospitable golf complex I have visited in my golfing career. From the check in with the guy in the pro shop to the pace of play with four people and four carts for each group.
The pro shop was well stocked and about 300% higher than most. The help there was extremely rude and did not have one ounce of customer service. I would fire that guy if he was my employee. I think he must be a work camper or something, his name tag said he was from Wisconsin or somewhere like that.
The carts are old, and in dire need of repair. This course is flat and even at that the cart barley made it around the course. As I mentioned above, most foursomes in front of us all had four carts. Mostly husband and wife combos and to say the pace was slow is an understatement. To make matters worse, don't plan on ANYONE letting you play through. The group in front of us had three open holes in front of them and would not let anyone play through.
When I approached them, they simply ignored me, and told me to wait my turn like everyone else.
The course is moderatly easy, and greens were very long and very slow. Maintenance was just so-so. Flat course.
This is a golf course located in a trailer/rv park. Loaded with people 70+ on the golf course. If you play 18 holes plan on spending at least 6 horus.
If this was the only place I had to play golf, I would give up the game.

I was blown away by this course. It was in great shape, the girl in the pro-shop was very friendly, and the pace of play was excellent. We played on a Friday morning/afternoon. This course is laid out in an interesting manner. Most of the holes are quite a long ways apart, so walking this course would be impossible. The tee boxes where in great shape, the fairways were are good as I have played this year. Greens were a little slow, but the weather was so humid, there was dew still on at noon. This is a must play course. I paid $13 for 18 holes on one of the best courses I have played in a long time. Honestly, I like it just as well as the Jack Frost Course, at a fraction of the expense.

Not a good experience on a very old and rundown course. I would say the price was decent, but why waste your time. It is a nine hole course that is listed as 18. Very crowded with walkers who will not even consider letting you play through. The proshop is staffed with rude people, who really don't care if you play there or not. This course is located on the VA property, and used to be a VA golf course, now leased to someone else. It is a wide open course, with few hazards, and no water. The tee boxes are like cement, and the fairways are not kept up. Surprisingly the greens were not too bad. Even for $16 I would rather just go to a driving range. I have never seen so many unfriendly rude golfers in one place at one time.
Fire Ridge Golf Course
Played On 05/14/2017Beautiful Course - Not for the faint of heart!
What a wonderful course located in the middle of Amish Country. The staff was excellent, and provided some great insight into the course. (Be sure to ask for a tip sheet). This course is up and down with some multi layered greens all over. Some of the holes are blind and especially #12 is a little hard to find. The back nine was really interesting and difficult. (For me anyway). This is a definite "must play" if you are anywhere near Holmes County Ohio. Well worth the time, money, and travel.
New Albany Springs Golf Course
Played On 05/10/2017Course has a lot of potential, great staff
This is an old golf course, 1922, that at one time would have been premiere. Today, the greens are good, but the fairway is rundown. This could be a great course if they would seed the fairway and keep it trimmed better. The course has an interesting layout with three hidden holes, and a couple of very long par threes. The staff was very nice, and you cannot beat the price to play here. It is a nine hole course, so we played it twice. A fair amount of up and down terrain so it will challenge a walker. (We didn't walk). If you are in the Louisville area it is well worth the trip to play this quaint nine hole course.
Valley View Golf Club
Played On 05/09/2017Very nice course with very accommodating staff
Really in nice shape, greens were good, fairway had grass, and the staff in the proshop was very nice and accommodating. Now as far as pace, we were behind a 4 some walking, and they would not let anyone through. There were three open holes ahead of them and we had 5 groups held up behind them.
Back to the positive, this is an underrated course, and should be played if you are in the area. Again, the man in the proshop was great!
Chickasaw Point Golf Course

West Fork Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/17/2017Beautiful Course Layout and Outstanding Staff
It's winter time in Texas, so the course is in winter time condition. The greens are very short and fast, not must grass but not the worst I have played either. The course is estheticlly beautiful. Lots of wildlife, picturesque hole settings, etc. The pace of play was slow, but then again, there is always that ONE foursome that won't let you play through. (Wish people would be more considerate, but hey, that is their problem not mine). The staff at the proshop was excellent, the people working on the course we're all friendly, the course Marshall was very information and friendly. They truly care that you have an enjoyable round. I would play this course again. Much better than some of the other Conroe courses I have played this trip.
Biloxi/Charleston at River Plantation Country Club
Played On 02/13/2017Nice Course for the Money
This course is in generally good shape. The fairways and greens vary depending on the hole. Some were excellent, some were just so so. It is winter time, so that is to be expected to a degree. Pace of play was good and the weather was wonderful. The carts are in need of replacement and it took to find one that would get around 18 holes. Overall, a nice golfing experience.

Played On 12/23/2016Great Course - Well Kept Secret
What a surprise to find this course out in the rural Florida area. Lots of pretty holes, very challenging tee shots with marsh carries on almost each hole. The back nine is tougher than the front, but both are great fun to play. Can't wait to tee off there again!

Played On 11/23/2016Best kept secret in the Carolinas
Great Course, with a great staff! Keith, Bobby and Rick are the best. The greens are slick and challenging. The fairways are nicely mown, and the ruffs are tough. It is very dry in the Carolinas right now, but the course is still great. I can't say enough good about this place. It's worth stopping and playing anytime you get a chance!!

Played On 10/23/2016What a Great Course and What a Great Bargain!
Wonderful golf course. Everything from the lady in the club house to the cart paths was excellent. The greens were great, only one green had a problem with blight, but the rest were outstanding. The front nine is nice and very pretty, the back nine is long and difficult. If you play the back tees this will be the longest course in Georgia. Worth the trip, even if you are coming from a distance.

Played On 04/25/2016Great People! Great Course
Best value for your money. Beautifully well kept course. Greens were perfect, the fairway was plush and the rough was better than most public course fairways. Play this course, well worth the extra drive to get there. The people working there are great and glad to see Golf Now players. Must play if you are in northern Indiana.

Title says it all. This is a good course that is going to be a great course. There is lots of renovation going on, complete with adding another 9 holes to make it a 27 hole course. The hospitality was excellent, the guy at the pro shop could not have been nicer. Gave us a couple of cold bottles of water, explained the course lay out and we were on our way. It was a little slow at first, but the other golfers were very courteous. This is not Augusta by any means, but it is a nice country course with great management.
The Preserve at Verdae
Played On 03/15/2016Nice Course
This a nice course but not as impressive as I was led to believe. The fairways were very short and very rough. (It is winter still, so I really didn't expect them to be perfect, but they were not very well kept). The greens had just been sanded, so it is hard to make an evaluation of them. They were in pretty good shape and had some interesting hole placements. The tee boxes were in good shape for the most part. The pace of play was really bad on this day. As uses there was a foursome of "members" who wouldn't let anyone play through. They had three open holes ahead of them and would not let the other 5 groups behind them play. This is always kind of frustrating and really should have been taken care of by the ranger. The ranger btw, did stop and talk with them, but it was just to visit, not to tell them to pick up the pace or let someone play through. 6.5 hours after tee off we were done. It is hard to get any kind of rhythm going when it is this slow. As far as price, I have played many many courses that were much better for the money.
Thank you for your honest review. We appreciate the comments and making us aware of the situation. We will get with our maintenance crew and take a closer look. We also will discuss this issue further with the ranger. We hope you will return soon so we can provide our normal excellent golfing experience!
Thank you, SCDoc! We certainly love hearing from our golfers!
