Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/09/2015Not good
was not pleased with the course at all. there was no grass on the tee boxes or even any signs that there ever was. the fairways were just so-so, the greens were good and quite fast, i felt the cost was on the high side for the condition. the bunkers were compacted down and you could walk on them and not leave a foot print.
River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 01/06/2015MORE WATER
Course was very busy which slowed play up. My only negative is that they have 27 holes and I don't know how busy each 9 was but the last 4 groups that I could see were all sent over to the same tee. Like I said I don't know how busy each 9 was but it seemed wrong to have so many going to the same starting hole.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 12/28/2014WATER-WATER & WATER
I don't know how I manage to do this but the last few courses I've played has a lot of water. This course had water on every hole except 2 holes. I was lucky and only lost 2 balls in the water. It is a nice lay-out and kept up nice. Greens were a little tough, some slow and some fast and some difficult to read.
NICE COURSE
I wasn't really sure what to expect when I got there, they have a small parking lot and it wasn't full. Might have been because of the drive from Myrtle Beach to get there. It turned out that considering the time of year and all the rain that we had the previous 2 days the course was in pretty good shape. I would like to play it in late spring or summer, I'm sure it would be quite scenic. There is water on every hole except for 2 of them, and there is a good distance between some of the holes, good to use a cart.
Colonial Charters Golf Club
Played On 12/18/2014Very Nice Course
Almost cancelled my reservation but glad I didn't. If you can hit the ball straight on every shot you won't have a problem. There is water on EVERY hole except #2, never played a course like this that I can remember anyway. The course is well maintained & it has a nice pro shop. The greens are a little difficult to read and also fast.

Magnolia/Dogwood at Brunswick Plantation & Golf Links
Played On 12/12/2014Very Nice Course
First impression was looks like a nice course and the staff was friendly. The course was very well maintained and scenic. I always try to play a different course everytime I come down here and this was the best I have played so for this winter. I do have some favorites that I replay once in a while and this one will be on that list now. Just wish Golf Now had more courses on their list to be able to play.
Diamondback Golf Course
Played On 12/05/2014G.N.D.B.
1st off the guy inside the club house acted like he didn't want to be there. 2nd when going to the 1st tee they have a sign warning about watching for rattle snakes, makes you think. 3rd I don't know why all courses don't have the fairways over seeded so they would be green like most courses around MB. The tee boxes were green and in good shape. The greens were in good shape and fast. I would like to play this course in the summer time when everything is green and the plants are in bloom I'm sure it would be a great looking course.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 12/03/2014Nice course
My first time to play here and I was glad I did. For this time of year the course was in pretty good shape, it is maintained good. There is a lot of water so be sure to look at the layout on the score card. I would like to play this in the summertime to see how it would look then.

This was the first time I played here, and would probably play it again in better weather.
Brierwood Golf Club
Played On 11/12/2014Will Not Recommed
This was the first and last time I have played here. I was not really sure what to expect based on the reviews that I read. I figured based on the price to play, it would have been a decent course even for this time of year. However I was wrong, it was difficult on most fairways to tell them from the rough. Most of them had weeds growing throughout the course and several of the tee boxes had little grass on them. The only good thing that I can say about this course is that the greens were in decent shape and difficult to read. The only other thing was the sand bunkers, they were in good shape, believe me, I played in a lot of them. The course is supposed to be making improvments, but the only place I could see where they were doing anything was in the club house. They should have at least used that money and bought chemicals to use on fairways and tee boxes. They should also reduce their fee's during their so called improvment project. Just glad it was a very nice day to be out on any course.
Azalea Sands Golf Course
Played On 11/08/2014Gene Hamm would be very dissapointed
I have played this course back in the 80's and it was a nice course and well maintained. I'm sure Gene Hamm would want his name removed as having anything to do with this course because it is not taken care of at all like it was in the past. If someone wants to play cheap using the great deals through Golf Now this is the place to go. However using Golf Now there is other courses that can be played for the same price but at a much nicer course. I have played a lot of courses around Myrtle Beach and I would rate this as the worst course down here. Also when I played this time they let a five some play just ahead of us and then there was a group of seven behind us. I can not think of anything good about this course other than the starter was very friendly and informative to the people who had not played here before. I would recommend that Golf Now should take this course off of their list of courses to play.
Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 05/27/2014Lot of hill's
Great course to play, fairway's and green's are always in good shape. There is a lot of hill's using a golf cart is suggested unless you are in very good shape.
Marsh/Preserve at Binder Park Municipal Golf Club
Played On 05/20/2014My thoughts
It had been a while since I played here and there wasn't really anything that had changed. The biggest down fall is for those that have not played here will find it difficult to know where to go from some greens to the next tee. They do have some marked but by the time you get to the sign you were just lucky you made the correct choice of which path to follow. Condition of the fairways and greens were very good, the greens are very challenging. They are tough to read as to what your ball is going to do and they are very fast. Where they have black top cart path's they really need to do a lot of repair work. I would reccomend this course if you haven't played it yet.
The Medalist Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2014Great course to play
I really enjoy playing The Medalist and the challenges it has. They also have great senior rate. The time of year I played mid-April the course was in good condition and the greens were very fast considering being early spring.
We did not over-seed the tee boxes this year and as a result the Bermuda grass is dormant. The golf course was purchased in July 2014. The previous owner allowed did not spray for any weeds, in order to begin the process of removing weeds from returning year after year, we put out chemicals that would not allow us to over-seed but it did help kill around 80% of the weeds on the golf course. Once the weather warms up just a little more, the Bermuda grass will turn green and start growing.
