The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe
Played On 03/27/2021Not playable yet
This course has a great layout and has the potential to come back and be a really nice course but in its current state it’s not playable. There is nothing but sand and crabgrass on the greens.
Canyon West Golf and Sports Club
Played On 05/27/2018Great Course, Will Definitely be Back
The greens had just been aerated but were in really great shape. Fairways and Tee Boxes were taken care of nicely.
I did have a problem with the groups behind us. We were playing a scramble so we were moving really fast but the group behind us wasn't finishing putts and were pressing us to move faster. They would tee off as we were hitting our second shots and they're balls would come right by us. I told the marshal about it twice and he told us it was our fault for not speeding up. We were 20min ahead of the scheduled pace! Other than having to deal with that group of 4 pressing us and trying to hurry us along there were no other complaints about this course.
Hidden Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2017Great Course
There was a tournament going on right before we went out so the pace of play was very slow as teams were taking their time in between shots. Other than that it was a great course. The greens were soft and responsive and very well kept. The fairways and sand traps were also maintained very well. I will definitely be coming back and playing this course.
While the golf course is still open for play, we are aware that current conditions are not ideal and this is due to a variety of reasons, including our mid-February historically low temperatures. What we are experiencing is not an isolated situation, and many golf courses throughout Texas are seeing the same challenges in recovering their course conditions.
The resort has an aggressive fertilization and maintenance plan in place to assist in restoring the golf course, in particular the greens, to a much better playing condition. We are optimistic that once temperatures reach a consistent low of 70 degrees, our efforts will take root and our course will once again become an ideal place to play and provide the perfect Margaritaville golf experience that you truly deserve.
Our team appreciates your patience during this time, and looks forward to seeing you here often in the future... and to sunnier days ahead!
