NIce Course, Fair Price!

Only a few minor issues. First, the starter forgot us. He kept sending people to the first tee, but skipped my group twice and we were right there next to him. We were only about 10 minutes late getting started.

Second, the tee boxes for most of the holes were in poor shape, a lot of divots and poor footing.

Third, the fairways and greens were in great shape, but even the first cut of rough was too long. You could lose a ball in the first cut (couldn't see it).

Overall, course was very nice, moderately challenging and we never felt rushed.

Chellenging Course, but not in the best shape!

Seems to happen a lot when private or semi-private courses become public. The tee boxes were beat up. The greens were in very poor condition and the rough was rough. The bunkers weren't sandy, but muddy (some) and firm (others). Even the locker room was musty. Course is challenging and has some nice scenery, but needs better maintenance. Interestingly some of the par 4s are as long as the par 5s, even from the middle tees. They probably should shorten a a couple of the 400+ par 4 holes to something more management for most amateurs.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed some of the challenging holes but we understand the weather has not been in our favor lately. Please email me directly to find out more about your round amandateetimes@gmail.com

Nice course, but not as nice as I expected.

I read that the course had recently been renovated and renamed. The course conditions were not at level that I would have expected for a recently renovated course. Tee boxes were a bit beat up and greens had recently been aerated, so they did not roll true. The on course marshal interrupted us rudely several times indicating that we were behind pace, but we were consistently right behind the group ahead of us. The GPS system on the carts, also stated that we were on time within a minute or two throughout the round. We were told not to rely on that information? The marshal was not friendly and was distracting. I am all for keeping up with pace of play, but it is not the fault of the golfer when the course books tee times every 7 minutes. 7 minutes is too close for amateur golfers (which most of us are) to keep perfect pace. This is particularly true for a group of 4.

Your comments and concerns are noted so that we may improve every day at our service. As with all courses, we have been conducting aggressive turf maintenance to prepare the season. I apologize that this did not meet your standards. Please email me at cpresensky@pbgfl.com with the date and time of your round and I would be happy to correct the experience.

Nice course. Very friendly staff.

The only complaint was that the greens had just been aerated. This was not known to me and not listed on GolfNow as a "course alert". The price was not reduced due to aeration and personally I hate playing on freshly aerated greens. This is something that the course and GolfNow should be more proactive about when setting tee times for customers. Despite that my group enjoyed the round golf.

One of the best public courses that I've ever played!

I only play 18 of 27 holes. This facility has 3, 9-hole courses. The location is a thing of beauty. The course is challenging with water everywhere, it seems. However, if you manage the course wisely, you can stay dry. I thoroughly enjoyed the 18 holes as the course was in excellent condition tee to green.

Course needs better maintenance.

Fees were only about $30 per player, including lunch. Not bad for summer rates in South Florida. However, the course was not in good condition. The rough was too rough. It was very overgrown, This overgrowth extended to the fringe around fairways and greens. Many greens had patches without any grass on them. To be fair and excess of rain may have contributed somewhat to this overgrowth. However, I play a number of courses in the area, none of which were/are in this condition.

Terrific Municipal Course

This is one of the best maintained municipal course that i have ever played. Their are not water hazards, but the number of bunkers and waste area, make the course more than challenging enough for most of us. The greens are very, very nice. Practice facilities are pretty good as well.

Nice Course -- not overly difficult

Course was in very good shape. Fairways and greens were very nicely maintained. Tee box(s), were overgrown and beat up. Difficult to find a good spot to tee up. Other than that, I have no complaints. Had lunch there as well. Surprising good, consider that menu choices were limited.

Well designed and very scenic.

Course is in very good condition. Greens and fairways were pristine. Tee boxes were a bit beat up, but not too badly. You have to make make quality approach shots. Seems like nearly every hole was protected by a bunker or two. They conveniently position the pin near a bunker. While there is some water, it's mostly not a factor. The 16th (par 5 is reachable, if you can get over the water and onto the dog leg (right).

Generous Fairways which is always good.

Be prepared for a long day. Pace of play is often slow. Despite that, it is a decent course with only a few difficult holes which means that if you can keep the balls in the fairway, you will score decently.

Overall course is well maintained. Tee box is often beat up a bit on a number of holes.

Good course for most amateur golfers, which is most of us!

Course is shorter and not too difficult with generous fairways and decent greens.

Fairways could probably be cut a bit shorter as grass is a little lush. The rough is a little rougher still. Balls are easily lost in the first cut as it is a bit too long.

Greens fees on average are about $70 which is too much, but on par (no pun intended) with other NY courses. You can find some weekday specials now and then.
