Recently my wife and I played Palm Desert Country Club during our annual visit to La Quinta. The staff was extremely friendly and arranged to get us out 45 minutes earlier than our scheduled tee time. We completed our round in 3.5 hours thanks to a foursome allowing my wife and I to play through on the back nine. The course was in good shape, fairways ample, holes fair, and the greens ran true. Some of the bunkers were a little rough but nothing that affected the quality of play. We both felt that regardless of our difference in handicaps, the course provided a fair round of golf. My wife's handicap 25+ and my handicap is a 10. We think that most players will enjoy the course but don't expect a high end country club experience, you will only get good solid customer service and course conditions. On a downside, there is no driving range but I knew that before I booked our tee time so we were not surprised when we arrived. We plan on returning in 2015.

During our annual trip to La Quinta, my wife and I played Woodhaven a couple of times. The staff was very friendly and helpful, course was in excellent shape, fairways are ample, greens were very fast, water hazards and bunkers hazards were well positioned but not overly penalizing. The clubhouse was undergoing a renovation but that did not distract from the beautiful grounds or experience. We had a late lunch after our round which was excellent. Some of the holes played longer than the posted distances as some of the holes played directly into the wind. Overall, we both enjoyed the course and we will return in 2015.

While I was looking forward to a great round, we were disappointed that it was cart path only. Cart path only really slowed down the pace of play. The course conditions were average but the course was a good track and had some visually intimidating holes. the greens were running true and moderate in speed.
