very hilly, undulating greens, plays longer. Course is in great shape. Staff are exceptionally pleasant and courteous. This is one of those courses you need to play more than once to understand where you need to be. Lots of fun, plays a lot longer than indicated. Lots of heather, not a lot of water, but lots of places you don't want to be either. Will definitely give it another go, or many more if I can. Very, very hot day but not a lot of shade.

a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. Course plays a bit long, undulating, twisting, very difficult when shooting into prevailing wind. Great views, not crowded, well maintained, wonderful friendly staff. Will definitely play again!

wonderful course, well maintained...only a few fairways needed some work, but all in all it was in great shape for playing in April. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Very helpful, courteous. Course is a challenge for someone who is a short hitter, but scoring bogie was okay. Greens were big, undulating but rolled true. can't wait to come back and play again! beautiful course, friendly staff. Greens were unreadable, and I've been paying over 200 years. course was in impeccable condition except for one hole, maybe one hole seemed to have a problem on the fairways. Pace was slow....they need to team players up....too many guys thinking they can reach the green and then they dribble off the tee. so virtually nonexistent rangers. But WTH, we're on vacation...

I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff, very welcoming, thanked us for visiting. The course was in excellent condition, a little challenging (especially for playing it the first time). I played some off the forward tees and some off the second tees, as the forward tees were a wee bit short. Loved, loved, loved the course. Look forward to playing it again next year. absolutely loved it, would come back here daily if I could. Very friendly staff, pace of play was wonderful - no backups whatsoever. course is challenging, but the layout was on my Garmin so I could see everything I needed to see at a glance. wish I could've putted better, but wonderful delightful course.

what a great course!!!! loved the layout, greens were the best we've played in Florida so far. Challenging water carries, lots of doglegs. Would highly recommend.

very challenging layout. Lots of holes where you have to decide to lay up or go for it. Course was in pretty good shape, considering it is early February. Staff were extremely friendly. My only complaint is that the pace of play was horrible. No marshalls were on the course and there was a foursome ahead of us that were just dawdling and holding everybody up. I think some of the players behind us didn't even get a chance to finish because of them.

nice course, very friendly staff. Long enough and plays a bit longer. First time out this year, so did not do as well as expected. Florida golf is a bit different than Michigan golf....the ball does not run as much, so don't count on getting extra yardage from the roll.

First of all, I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Secondly, the course is in good shape, a good bit of bunkering and hills and water make it quite interesting. However, the pace of play was horrible. There were no rangers to speed it up, however, I doubt they would anyway. We were behind a threesome who thought they could drive every green and then were not ready to play when it was their turn anyway. We got in just bit after the sun set and started at noon.....not good at all. Why can't they get somebody out there to speed things up?????? We paid for our round just as much as everybody else and should be entitled to finish it. We had 2 groups behind us breathing down our necks and I'm sure they finished in the dark. I loved the course but I don't think I would recommend it unless something drastically changes, sorry guys. That's a real shame. If you think you can hit it like a pro, then get your card and go on tour.

This course is not as easy as it looks. It has a lot of ups and downs and the greens are tricky. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They called to let me know I was booked behind a huge outing and got me out quicker so we didn't have to wait. After suffering a 3-1/3 hour 9 hole round at Cedar River the day before, this guy was a real blessing! I will continue to play this course everytime we get up here. It is a real value and well worth the drive from Traverse City.

The course is well maintained. It is challenging. However, we were behind a foursome that had 3 vacant holes in front of them and the rangers would do nothing about it. We played as a threesome, so I realize we were quicker, but really..... it was ridiculous. Over 5 hours for a threesome is a bit much. Would not recommend unless you have a foursome, unfortunately . The ranger made every excuse in the book but failed to do his job.

Beautiful course, in perfect condition. Moderately difficult for seniors, but fair overall. The views were fantastic. My only complaint was that we started later than our tee time, but it was a Sunday so I realize that is "par for the course." We were paired with another couple that had played it a few days earlier, so that helped us out a great time. Would definitely recommend. Look forward to playing there again in the fall.

this course needs a lot of work but the layout is great. The staff is very friendly, but you can see they have not put any money into it for a while. That's too bad...it has great potential. A couple of the holes were pretty difficult, but overall a very fair test of both your long game and your short game.

well maintained fairways, meticulously groomed greens. Rather undulating, but fairly easy to figure out. This was a rather difficult course for us, and we are seniors and don't hit it very far. The fairways are targets you aim for, and many times we didn't quite get our shots to them. However, the next time we play we will know better ho to manage the course. We still won't hit them far enough to make the fairways off the tee, but will know where to place the ball and where not to go. We enjoyed the course other than losing a whole bunch of balls, but then we found quite a few anyway. I guess there are many other golfers who hit as poor as we do!

I played this back in 1999, and swore I wouldn't come back - the course was in horrible condition. I was told by my brother to retry it and we did and I am so glad I followed his advice. It is gorgeous. Very tricky, lots of lay ups, the greens were spectacular but very difficult - lots and lots of undulations and absolutely huge. OMG - stay out of the rough! I would definitely play it again, now that I know the nuances and where to lay up and where to go for it.

The course was in okay shape, but the tee boxes need a lot of work. The greens were in great shape, a lot faster than you would think. You definitely need to keep it in the fairway. The hills were a bit challenging - not your everyday flat course, but overall we enjoyed it. I don't think the staff knew a golf club from a hockey stick, every question I asked was "I don't know, sorry." There is no drinking water on the course and no cart girl available. It was hot, so that was a definite no-no.
