Sun City Country Club
Played On 03/24/2017A great older course, that's always fun
SCCC is my go to course for a afternoon round in the late spring, and summer when I'm fortunate enough to be at home. Pace of play with the members on the course is brisk, when others are out, not so much.
A straightforward course that won't challenge a 7 or lower, but the staff, members on the course, homeowners off the fairways all make the course one of my favorites.
How often do you hear from the late afternoon "gallery" of the homeowners on their patios, "Nice drive son!, can I offer you a drink?" And that's happened about 4-5 times from different people who I had never before met.
Desert Mirage Golf Course
Played On 01/16/2017Great Little Course, and Great for Kids
A fun nine hole course that has a straightforward layout and is great to take the kids to. The other golfers that play there are friendly and were happy to see kids playing golf, so no impatient groups were encountered.
Continental Golf Course
Played On 12/12/2015Great executive course
Fun short course with 3 par 4s per side. with the rest being par 3s ranging from 110 yards to 185 yards. Bombers can leave their driver in the bag on the short par 4s. Greens are straightforward with no surprises. The read you see is how the ball will roll into the cup. A great course to play if you are a beginner or have been unfortunate enough to have not played in a couple months, and need to shake out the cobwebs.
Canyon Mesa Country Club
Played On 09/07/2015An outstanding course for the money
Canyon Mesa is a beautiful little 9 hole course located in the Village of Oak Creek (which is about 8 miles south of Sedona)with 8 par 3s and one short par 4. I brought a Sunday bag with a 7, 9, 52W and 60W with my putter and had no issues shooting par. The views from many of the holes of the Sedona area are fantastic and the course was in great shape even for a holiday weekend (Memorial Day weekend) The golfers on the course were mostly regulars, so pace of play was not an issue.
