Kingsbarns Golf Links
Played On 06/29/2018Most Overhyped Course on Earth
Beautiful scenery yes but the course is at its best a contrived resort effort. Balls roll back toward fairways and miraculously on to greens. On a number of holes, wide expanses of open space await slicers who think they’ve lost a ball right.
On this day, we played 12 holes in 3.5 hours and walked off. Starter was more concerned with my request to play whites than he was with the ladies in front of us playing the men’s tees. They couldn’t hit it a lick. Lost holes to the group in front and were never approached by a course representative. We passed the ranger on the walk in he never blinked an eye at us. I guess people walk off on $350 rounds there all the time? For that price per round, you would expect a more pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the truth is that Kingsbarns exploits its location to charge an extortionate amount to wealthy clientele from St. Andrews. People line up like sheep to play this pedestrian track set on a marvelous piece of coast. They get people on they get people off. That’s what they do. On this trip the pace of play was appalling and the course conditions were just so so for mid summer. Divots everywhere and thinning greens. Go see for yourself - not a chance it’s worth the 268 GBP per round.
Jack's Point Golf Course

Great track for the money. The views are some of the best I’ve seen on a golf course. If you’re in the area it’s a must play.

Really nice place. Was welcomed by all and the service was top notch. Course is an architectural marvel. Greens were some of the firmest and fastest I’ve ever played. Augusta like speed. One of the best courses in Australia without a doubt.
Kingston Heath Golf Club

Played it 3 times now. Greens are awesome. Quick and true. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it if you can organize a visit. Not as well manicured as Metropolitan, but there are a number of memorable holes. If you’re in the area to play the Sandbelt courses it’s a must play.
MetroWest Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2017Place to hit the ball. That's about it.
Recent management change has course looking better but it's still got a long way to go. Greens are decent. A little slow but true. The range grass/sand is pretty bad. Just got some new balls but they are restricted flight. Range is about 300+ uphill so not sure why they did that.
The management change hasn't helped the standard of service. It was probably better with the previous group but the course was just atrocious under them. These days the cart guys aren't as friendly. They don't go out of their way and judging over a couple of visits now...they are basically just not interested in being there. Pro shop is barren. Guys in there are ok. It's close to home and it's as I said...just a place to strike it. Sad as it used to be one of the nicer courses in town.
Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando
Played On 06/18/2017Put lipstick on old Disney course and charge $$$$
Disappointed. Poor condition. Turf replacement everywhere. Dirt on tees. Greens verticut and slow. No place open to eat Sunday at 9 am. No halfway house. Range closed. Sound like a $125 course to you in the summer? Me either. Not a good show. Honestly. Save your money and try someplace else. Four Seasons is just the name on the same Osprey Ridge course in arguably worse condition then when Disney had it.

Great old Florida course where condition has improved over the years.

Has to be the best course in NSW and one of the best in Australia. Genius of MacKenzie hard against the sea. Lot of elevation change, great greens and some tight holes. Close to Sydney. A must do if you’re in the area looking for a game.
