StoneCrest Golf Course

This used to be a gem for the state of Kentucky. Not sure if it’s funding or lack of available labor but the course is in terrible condition. Staff still as super friendly as always.

Middle of nowhere and worth the drive. Greens are perfect. Staff was super accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be coming back.
StoneCrest Golf Course
Played On 02/20/2017If you haven't been here, make plans now
This course was excellent. I was a little nervous to play due to the elevation. I thought it would be difficult to keep the ball in play and would need to take out a loan to replace the balls I would lose. Not the case at all. Fairways were wide enough to use driver when necessary. The elevation changes on the par 3s were beautiful. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place. It was busy but knocked out our round in under 4 hours and it was $30 with range balls. Yes, that is right, $30. It is well worth a 2 or 3 hour drive. Just go play this course!
Legacy Pines Golf Club
Played On 11/30/2016Best Greens in the Upstate
I played this course a few years ago and it has improved drastically. I was amazed at the condition of the greens. I would put these up against any in the area. They should fire their super so he can go run a course the tour plays. Great atmosphere at the grill and good food. Par 3s from the tips are a real challenge. Hit good shots and this is a super fun course, really enjoyed it. Did I mention the greens?
Harbor Links at Sagamore Resort
Played On 08/20/2016Great set up
This course is a challenging layout that is very scenic. Even the holes away from the lake offer some great views. The gentlemen in the pro shop was great, got me in and out in front of a larger group allowing me to finish up under 3 hours. Most of the greens were recently mowed and rolled very true. The greens are tough though. Only knock on the course was the cart paths but it really doesn't bother me at all.
University Club of Kentucky - Wildcat Course
Played On 06/12/2016Great shape
Course was in great shape. Little slow due to number of rounds on the course but not terrible. An absolute value in Central Kentucky.
Thanks for the review, Bryan. Come back and play again soon!
Old Silo Golf Club
Played On 04/24/2016Not a $45 course any more
When you establish the "no play from the bunkers" rule before you start it's obvious they aren't taking care of the course like they should be. So that begs the question, what is my $45 going toward? This course has a great layout and could be a top course in the state but I guess the economics are where they should be. Charge $25-$30 per round and make it up in volume. I won't pay $45 to play here again.
River Bend Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2015Dry shoes!
Every course in the area was wet enough to drown a frog but River Bend was dry and playable. The course isn't a $100 per round course but the layout is nice, the greens were punched but are in good condition and hey, it was dry. The staff is super friendly. I would recommend if you're in the area hitting this place up for a cheap round.
Thanks for your recommendation Bryan1782684! We're glad someone was able to keep dry around here! We hope you'll be able to come out and play with us again!
Cherry Blossom Golf Course & Country Club

Chose to play over watching the pros and it was a great decision. Received an email for a discounted round and jumped on it. Friend and I played in just under 4 hours. Had to wait a little but we were only 2 in our group. Only complaint is the condition of the greens. If players would properly fix ball marks it would help. Staff was awesome, course was in great shape, had a good day.
University Club of Kentucky - Big Blue Course
Played On 07/05/2015Needs to dry up
They have done an excellent job in getting this course playable with all of the rain. Mowing down the tall grass has helped in not losing 20 balls in a round without taking the challenge away. You still lose a stroke but not your $4 golf ball. Greens were tricky due to length, over reading a lot of puts, but I can't complain it's only rained every day for 3 weeks. If you are in the area you need to play this course. Great lay out and just a great course.
Stonebridge Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2014Great Deal
If you can get on this course for less than $30 you should be locked up. It is an absolute steal. Nice clubhouse, nice practice facilities and the course is in really good shape. There are some challenging holes on the course and you can find some hazards if you don't hit some great golf shots. Rough is nice and thick and requires you to use the fairways. I will check golfnow daily for deals at this course.
Mearns - East & South at Quail Chase Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2014Zebra Fairways
If the fairways are going to be like this they need to offer a discounted rate. The rough was thick (I think that's a good thing) but there was no reward for hitting the fairways. Not sure what was going on but they were in awful condition. I had zero good lies in the fairway. I would wait a month or two before going back out there and maybe they will have grown back in. Greens were in good condition, a few still needed to grow back in from being punched earlier this year.
Heritage Hill Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2014Great Course
Was busy but finished the round in just over 4 hours. Very enjoyable. Greens could be a touch faster but they were in great condition. Rough is thick and playing from the fairway was the key. Excellent course and if you can get on for less than $50 it's a steal. Well worth the drive from Louisville.
