Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course
Played On 05/16/2018Sunnyvale muni———good as ever
Having played this track many times I have to say the greens are in as good of shape as ever. The layout is what it is....not much to it. Greens might be too flat.....honestly I wish they’d do something, anything, to dress it up a bit. Water in the ponds would be great. Nice that the restaurant is open and on weekends the snack shack. I love good ole’ muni and the occasional deal from Golf now is icing on the cake. Alyssa in the bar is a great addition.
Coyote Creek Golf Club - The Tournament Course
Played On 04/18/2018Better than ever
The tournament course, and the Valley too has always been kept in tip top shape. It’s easy to recall the the Senior PGA used to have a tour stop there. Great layout, challenging but fair. We got paired with a mid handicap-capper (like us) that had never played the course before. Honestly there were about 3 times we steered him away from the seemingly obvious but treacherous routes but otherwise, what you see is what you get. Greens had been punched in the last month but the new growth was taking very well. Thanks for a great day Coyote Creek.
Cinnabar Hills Golf Club - Lake/Canyon
Played On 10/24/2017Beautiful afternoon round and a great value
I’ve played Cinnabar probably a dozen times and it’s always in fantastic shape. This particular day was special for 3 reasons. The weather was spectacular. I got a great deal through GolfNow . I got to experience my son’s first round at Cinnabar Hills. It was a very warm afternoon, about 86 when we teed off in a late October round. A slight breeze was just cooling enough. The staff was great and the after round beer was ice cold. Truly a sensational day (except for the way I played) but was a blast anyway. We’ll be back often.
Shoreline Golf Links at Mountain View
Played On 11/11/2016Beats workin
Enjoyed some beautiful November NorCal weather at Shoreline recently. Driving range is decent as was over all course condition. Greens were very bumpy but tee boxes were nice and fairways pretty good. Met and played with a couple nice guys but because the 4some in front of us were walking (slowly) we waited A LOT. Never saw any sign of a Marshall so on a couple par 3's it backed up 3 groups. Nice guy in pro shop....had fun....good food after.
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 01/14/2015Gem in the Oakland hills
Played LC on a crisp January day for the first time in 25+ years and had a blast. Got paired with a nice older gentlemen who knew the course very well. Staff was really friendly. Course is a lot of up and down terrain so I think it would be difficult to walk. Lots of fun holes including a par 3 that probably drops 200 feet tee to green, a couple driveable par 4's and most of the par 5's are reachable. Finally the famous 18th is a par 6.....yes that's right....par 6. 630 yards but with a great drive and second shot you COULD get a shot at an albatross. Hill Top snack shack was closed the day I played and I did not try the cafe. Next time. Got an unbelievable price from Golf Now. $15 bucks, teed off at 12:15, cart included. What a value! Range is a bit shoddy and you can only hit SW to 6.
