Heritage Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/14/2019Long carries and open fields
I've played this course 3 times this year as a friend is a member. The greens are in good shape, the fairways are spotty and not entirely grass covered. There are 2-3 carries over brush that are long for an average female golfer. The back nine is wide open with no shade at all. The course is 5391 from the Gold tees. Not a particularly picturesque
course to play. The fairways are wide and forgiving.
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 04/08/2019April green fees reasonable ; course in great shape
We played the blue./ white course. The blue course has lots of water that winds through the course and homes. Very pretty, lots of flowers. This was our first time playing Ocotillo and we should have explored the water hazards more. On a few holes we couldn’t see that the water cut across the entire fairway. We played as a twosome and had to wait on most holes, however we did play in 4 hours.
Tee time was accurate restarting.
36C/96F - HOT! The course thankfully had a bit of shade on most holes. Restaurant had tables as well as comfortable arm chairs.
Starfire Golf Club - The King Course
Played On 04/04/2019Well maintained park course
We played the course with another couple in less than 4 hours. A pleasant pace of play. The fairways were lush and the greens ran true. The course had quite a bit of water which added to the interest of the layout. If you are new to the course drive up to see how far the water comes into the fairway. This may save you a ball or two! The cacti happened to be in bloom and the clubhouse are was very attractive.

Played On 03/30/2019Wonderful day at a great course
This was our second time playing this course. The weather the first time was windy, cloudy, cold and slow. Today was sunny, warm, calm breezes and a 4 hour round. As a bonus we got to play as a couple rather than part of a foursome . A totally enjoyable round on a well maintained course with stunning views of the mountains.
San Tan Highlands
Played On 03/18/2019Tee time overbooking terrible and affected enjoyment of the round
We arrived and were told our 12:50 tee time would be delayed by 90 minutes. The problem according to staff was that Glof Now sold tee times in a slot that was reserved for course leagues. 30 extra golfers had to accommodated and resulted in great inconvenience subsequent golfers. Staff had had a trying morning but were patient and pleasant. We had driven 40 minutes to get to the club so we decided to stay and hope we could get our round in before dark. We waited on every hole and finished just before sunset. I hope that the issue has been addressed and fixed. It would be nice to see some sort of acknowledgement for the inconvenience to golfers.
That being said = the front nine is in the mountains with stunning views and an interesting layout. The website has the valley nine as first so they must have been reversed recently. The back nine is through homes and not as interesting. Haven't decided if we’ll give it another try.
Power Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2019Best of three rounds at Trilogy
Today everything at the course went as planned. Start time right on time, Waited only o ar threes, cart in good shape although I really miss a wnd screen Especially as the wind today was strong enough to bend the flag sticks.. Two flagstick markers were in the wrong location on the pins, but they could have been blown down!. Course in good shape and layout still interesting after 3 rounds.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the round in spite of the crazy conditions! Hope to see you back for your fourth round soon.
Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/07/2019Poor first impression and unfair lies
Our first impression of the course was shaped by the condition of the golf cart. A busy day and obviously the cart had been just in service. But not cleaned at all for us. The floor was covered in dirt, there were no tees, the steering wheel was filthy . For a higher end course the Cart had a torn seat and there was no wind screen. It did have a GPS. We played in 4 hours 30 minutes. We waited on every hole. Several of the fairways and greens slope into the water, so even if you hit md fairway or green your ball is lost. There are better courses for less money in the area.
Western Skies Golf Club
Played On 03/01/201925 minute delay, no explanation
We checked in and there was no mention of any delay. Carts were scarce so were asked to come back closer to our tee time. that meant we had to carry our clubs to the driving range. When we returned to the pro shop we were told there was a 25 minute delay. From what we could learn this happens when a league or large group shows up with more people than booked. The league’s extra golfers are accommodated to the detriment of golfers who have a set tee time. We waited on every hole. So all in all not an enjoyable round.
Arizona Golf Resort
Played On 02/25/2019Better golfing experiences elsewhere
The set up of the course created a slow start as the second hole was a par 3 The course itself has no picturesque features and several holes were covered with bird droppings. The greens were true and fast The layout was average. In my opinion the green fee @$65 was too high for the experience
Hi, we are sorry that our course fell short of your expectations. Your feedback is important to us, and we hope that you will return again soon.
Mountain Brook Golf Club
Played On 02/16/2019a course in good condition and stunning views
We played with 2 members and they helped us navigate the course. Except for a couple of holes the layout is quite straight forward. Getting from hole to hole would have been more challenging without prior knowledge. Bunkers protect several greens. Fairways and green in good condition. Practise facility good. We waited on most holes. The back nine played faster than the front. The views of the mountains are stunning and add to the experience. We’ll be back.
The Links Golf Club At Queen Creek
Played On 02/09/2019Too many bird droppings
For me, a good course was spoiled by the inordinate amount of bird droppings. Clubs, balls, tees and shoes were covered Very unpleasant.
The course is short 5100 from the whites, 5 par threes. No bunkers, some water in play.
Pace of play OK
Fairways and greens in acceptable condition.
Pro shop staff very friendly
Dobson Ranch Golf Course
Played On 02/04/2019Good course - worth a second look
The course - fairways and greens were in good shape. A canal ran though the course giving some interest to the holes. The round was 4.5 hours - we waited on most holes on the back nine. .It was cart path only so we walked. Course is very walkable. The course is 5592 from the forward tees. We intend to golf here again.
We're glad you had a good experience at the course! We look forward to seeing you out here again soon.
Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
Played On 01/30/2019Interesting desert course
We started on time and the starter and reception staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the desert aspect of the course. Fairways were lush and generally if you landed on the fairway the ball did not roll off. # 10 had a hidden green and the direction for your drive was not obvious. Fairly straight forward course design . 4 hour round .
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 01/21/201935km wind certainly affected play!
We played on MLK Day so perhaps that explained the crowds but a 5 hour round is never fun and with the strong winds the day wasn’t the most enjoyable. We’ll have to return on a “normal” day to make a fair assessment.
The greens were a bit patchy and some pin placements were on slopes so that any put would not hold the green..Our cart did not have a windshield and the brakes were faulty.
Painted Mountain Golf Club
Played On 01/18/2019Short course, patchy greens well kept fairways
The course is only 6021 from the tips but water and bunkers add some difficulty and interest. Our foursome waited on all the par threes. Apparently Friday is the busiest day of the week. The greens ran true however there were many patchy, bare spots. The cart paths are not good at all. The fairways are wide and in good repair .
Kokopelli Golf Course
Played On 01/16/2019Second round and pace of play much better
We played the course on a Monday and then again on Wednesday . The pace of play on Wednesday was much faster and therefore the golf experience much more positive. Balls still rolled off the fairway into the dirt. greens in great shape.
Kokopelli Golf Course
Played On 01/14/2019Narrow fairways
Staff at the course were excellent. Helpful and friendly. The fairways are green and narrow. Even when landing on the fairway balls frequently roll into the dirt along the side. Greens are in good shape. Pace of play was slow. A few foursomes ahead one player paler with out shoes. The Marshall was effective and did hep speed up play. Lots of bunkers, varied layout.
Vaaler Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/01/2018Great course and some green fairways
First course we’ve played in the hill country that has some green fairways. Some areas that were designed to have water were dry and therefore not attractive. Two carries were quite long. An interesting layout The starter sent us off on back nine to avoid slow play. We appreciated his thoughtfulness. Greens ran true and were in great shape.
Delaware Springs Golf Course
Played On 01/28/2018Sunday play very slow
This my second time playing here. First review still stands as I like the course. The caveat to players is the pace of play on Sunday. The round was 5 hours. Too long and too slow. We played behind a five some.
Lago Vista Golf Course
Played On 01/21/2018Give this course a pass
Two of us played and the pace of play was excellent as we did not encounter any other golfers. The fairways are brown everywhere this time of year. At Lago Vista there was s much mud as dormant grass. The greens were patched with chunks of grass. The course and clubhouse appeared to need a large infusion of cash. The layout of the course had some pretty views of the lake.
Hi janes13, we're sorry to see your experience with us was less than ideal. We're golfers too, so we know how frustrating delays and pace of play issues can be. That said, we have every confidence that this was a one-off technical difficulty. Give us a call at (480) 987-9800, we'd love to talk with you about booking your next round at Johnson Ranch.
