Wentworth Hills Golf & Country Club - Semi Private
Played On 08/20/2014Beutifull course, but I felt rushed
One of the best courses in this part of MA. However, on the day I went, nobody else wanted to walk , i.e., they all wanted to drive carts. Due to this (since I enjoy the walk) , I felt constantly rushed from behind; although the 4-some ahead of me was in carts, they were fairly slow. My experience shows this course had a lot of locals on it
Due to the crowed conditions, I'd consider going over to Chemawa in nearby North Attleboro instead
Wentworth Hills Golf & Country Club - Semi Private
Played On 08/20/2014Beutifull course, but a victim of its own success
This is certainly one of the best best venues in the south eastern MA area. The problem with it is that it was extremely busy; I felt pushed and rushed throughout my play, especially since this course is definitely NOT for those of us who want to walk (I thought I was going to get run over a couple of times by golf carts)
My suggestion to anyone who visits this course is to bring PLENTY of balls; the way the tees and fairways are angled, you will loose plenty of them (and the woods are thick with brush). I'd also recommend not going to this course if you want a relaxing day of play - there are too many locals, in too much of a hurray.
Very well kept course, with interesting greens
North at Heather Hill Country Club
Played On 07/27/2014Decent course, but overvalued
This course has been renovated, and is certainly improved; however, it still has exposed ditches / water pipes, that take away from the experience. Frankly, I think there are better options in the area.
MGA Links At Mamantapett
Played On 07/26/2014Good value for the money; good learning course
This is a par three course, but it definitely is a step above a "Pitch & Putt" course. There are moderate challenges (water, swap, etc) that will keep the new golfer busy trying to avoid, while providing challenges even to the experienced golfer. This course provides a good way to "groove" your swing at the beginning of the spring / summer. In fact, some of the holes feel more like a par 4 than a par 3.
It's kept in decent shape, although not in "pristine" condition, but overall, a good value.
There is no food facility here, but it isn't far from other surrounding places
Chemawa Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2014Chemawa, in North Attelboro
This is a course that is kept in very good condition; the tees are decorated with flowers, the fairways are kept very smooth. Not a lot of water; the fairways are relatively wide
Stone - E - Lea Golf Course
Played On 06/04/2014Good value for the money
This course may not be Augusta, but it provides batter value than others in this area. It doesn't have much water or rough tall enough to lose balls in, but it has lots of dog-legs which make it feel long
