Miserable Experience

Round started off well enough, starter told us we might run into some traffic around the 6th hole. Well the traffic started at the 2nd tee and didn't stop the whole day. Terrible is the only way to describe it. The course is only about 6200 yards long, but it might as well have been 9000 yards for the amount of time it took to play. No marshals anywhere to be seen, but then again, they're making their money, so who cares about pace of play? Would rather hit balls at the range than put up with that again. Won't be back, ever.

Beware the Tips

The course is quite nice, difficult for first timers though as there are quite a few blind shots and partially blocked views of fairways from the tee. But conditions are very nice, kind of furry on the greens, but that's to be expected with all the heat we've had lately. Fairways are in excellent shape, and be ready to hit shots from varying sloped lies. Great views as well.

However, a big warning to those playing from the blacks, like I did. There are a few holes that require you to drive it 250 in the air to make it to the fairway from the tips. Unfortunately not a shot I have in my bag, so it made things tougher than the average course for me. But that was my choice, so nothing against the course there. Would like to see them cut the fairways back a bit on those holes as only the big boys can hit it out there, but that's just sour grapes on my part.

A big shout out to the young woman in the pro shop who sent me out. She was nice enough to let me go out before my tee time and start on number 2 so that I could avoid the weekly Wednesday tournament that had just teed off on 1. Made my round a lot more enjoyable, thanks!
