This is an amazing and challenging Arthur Hills layout in excellent condition. The short game practice facility is impressive.
The problem is with the staff. This was the the second time I've tried to play there. Both times, they did not have my reservation ontheir tee sheet and didn't seem to care whether I played or not. They blamed Golf Now, but I've never had this problem at any other course. Last time, they couldn't fit me in at all. This time they found a time 20 minutes later, but never told the starter. I ended up playing as a single behind a foursome. Pace was OK, but finally got tired of waiting on every shot and quit after 12 holes. No one ever apologized for the inconveniences. Treated me as an inconvenience and annoyance. I think they mostly focus on members and aren't well set up for public play.
If you decide to play, call a day ahead to make sure you're on the tee sheet.

Course has lots of memorable holes, especially n the back. Pay attention to the course map because there is a lot of hidden trouble, particularly if you are long off the tee. It helps to play with someone who's played it before.
Conditions were very good. Played mid morning and did the front in 1:45. Backed up a bit on the back (some blind holes), but overall right at 4 hours.
Worth the trip and its reputation as US Open qualifying course.

Crescent is one of my favorite layouts in the area. I have played it often and it is usually in good condition. This time it was extremely poor. Fairways were wet and damaged. Bunkers were often unplayable. Quite a few greens were damaged. Cart paths are in disrepair. To be fair, it's been extremely wet and the weather has been a challenge. But, I've played four or five other courses in the past week and none were in as poor condition.

The course is as advertised. Beautiful setting. Interesting holes. Excellent condition. It helps to play with someone who has played it before. The trouble is not always visible from the tee. Worth the long drive out the island

We were first off on a Saturday morning and played comfortably in 3.5 hours. The course is challenging, but straightforward--you can see the trouble. It's in a nice lowlands setting, not much marsh or water. The holes were interesting, but not particularly memorable. It was in excellent shape and the staff was first-rate.
