Greens are in awful shape now

The boulders is an extremely beautiful course. It is a two course track . Under most circumstances, I encourage golfers to just go do it, regardless of the price. HOWEVER, at this time, all of the greens are punched/aerated. So the putts wobble. Sand flares up when the ball lands on the greens and to limit frustration, our foursome adopted the two putts max rule. It was quite frustrating. Otherwise the course and the staff are great. My best advice: call before you go.

Decent value for the price

The course is extremely wet, even though there hasn't been any rain in the last several days. There are several water ways that cross the course, several areas in which the fairways are wet, and the bunkers must have been recently watered. There is neither a range finder on the carts nor outlines of the holes on the card for the player unfamiliar with the course.

Still in good shape

Whirlwind is still in good condition even in August in Phoenix. It was very hot but the pace of play was brisk. The greens rolled true but obviously not as quick as they do during the winter. The staff is always accommodating and the fee is commensurate with many lower quality courses. Its a really good value.

Good Value

Nice course. Courteous staff. Worth the drive to Gilbert. Its a bit challenging from the tips but only 6900 yards or so. Bunker sand was moist and hard. I got into two of them and it was extremely difficult to avoid hitting the ball thinly.

Take the Drive

This course is located in Fountain Hills, which is the most picturesque area of the valley. The greens were immaculate, rarely flat and seldom predictable. The fairways were well manicured but the rough was rough! There are several par 4s on which one should leave the driver in the bag. The staff was extremely friendly and happy that we took the drive. The cost was significantly less expensive than comparable Troon Courses. Its a great value especially if you want a memorable experience, great greens, and a well thought out layout--- without paying a mortgage to play.
