The Grand Bear Golf Course
Played On 10/14/2016Great course, excruciating pace of play
Beautiful layout, interesting holes, course in great condition. We were a twosome and after 2 holes caught a 5-some (yes, they are allowed). Thought we could skip a hole but realized there were several 4somes in front of the 5some. It seems there was some event that day. Called Proshop and asked if we can play the back and was told it was busy but we can try going to 16 or 17. Ended up playing 17 18, then 3-16. Caught the same 5some on 13 & of course waited on every hole until we mercifully finished on 16. Took 4 1/2 hours, which for a 2some was torture.
Will play it again but maybe early or midweek. Avoid Fridays and weekends like the plague.
Friendly staff, nice clubhouse. Was not able to try the food since we had to leave as soon as we finished playing.
Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/03/2014Challenging, great value
Interesting course; narrow fairways, lots of elevation changes and required carries over hazards. Par 3s for guys quite long. Several long par 4s for women. Fast greens.
Enjoyed the round.
Proshop staff, dining room and other course personnel, were all friendly.
We were driving from Toronto to Niagara on the Lake and the course was not too far out of the way.
Added bonus: fresh fruit stands along the road; great pies from Peach Country Farm Market in Vineland.
