Not a good time to play Eagle Ridge right now

Normally, Eagle Ridge is one of my favorite courses in the Bay Area. When we played Monday, the course is undergoing repairs which make golf not fun to play there. Fairways are being re-done. Some are ground under repair. Hope it'll get better soon.

Great course but.....

KoOlina is a wonderful course. Excellent conditions every time I play there. Unfortunately, the pace of play was affected by an organized and instructionalized group class of beginners they have on the golf course. On the two particular days I played (both on Sundays), I teed off first at 6:30 am. Normally, when teeing off that early, our rounds are done in 3 hours and 15 mins if not sooner. I love that about teeing off early in the am. But the two times I played on a Sunday, they had a group of beginners on the course. Unfortunately, they held up play and ruined the nice pace we all had been playing. We all spoke to the GM about this. He explained how there is a program at KoOlina in which beginners are taught to play golf. I told the GM I don't mind programs like this, but they have to be timed where it doesn't interrupt the pace of play of golfers. Probably the best times to teach these type of beginning programs is twilight, not the prime hours of golf. I would highly recommend to play but I would call in advance to see if these classes may affect the pace of play. If these classes are in session, I would recommend playing Kapolei Golf Course instead.

Very nice course in SJ

Booked round with Golfnow for $50, which was a great value for the weekday. Course conditions were excellent, except the bunkers. Greens were fast and tricky, but great condition. Fairways and tee boxes were nice, too. The only issue I had was the bunkers. There really isn't much sand in there. Kind of hitting out of mud with some top dressing of sand. I did hear Coyote Creek will undergo a renovation. I'm sure the bunkers will be much better afterwards. Overall, I gave it 4 stars. Highly recommend!

Nice course, except in July

I just played this course on July 21. Westin Mission Hills had an incredible price on a stay/play package. So my friends and I decided to leave San Jose and play down there.

The course is a Pete Dye course. Holes are protected nicely by bunkers or water. Not one of his difficult courses but I found this challenging.

When I made the reservations in May, I asked if the conditions would be good. Specifically, I asked if the greens would be aerated and I was told it was not.

When I putted on the 1st hole, the greens were just aerated probably a week ago, but they were growing out the grass on the putting green. It was like putting on the fairway. Pretty disappointing.

The course itself was a very nice layout. After a few 3 putts, our friends just agreed to play it like a temporary green and no one would have any 3 putts.

I would like to see this course in ideal conditions, because I'm sure it is a wonderful course. Just don't play it in July.

Very challenging course

I was looking forward to playing this course. The course layout is amazing. Undulations in the fairways and greens. Sand and grass bunkers and water protects the greens. It is a very enjoyable and challenging course. A must play.

Some comments about the course:
1. Avoid playing in July. Greens were aerated and recovering but it would have been nice to putt on a nice putting surface.
2. Playing in July is extremely hot. There is people who drive around with water, but honestly, they hardly stop unless you flag them down. I believe they should have come up to us and asked us if we needed water.
3. Clubhouse was amazing.

One of the best I played

Diablo Grande is a beautiful course. Excellent conditions. Very challenging, yet plenty of scoring opportunities. Enjoyed this course and was worth the drive from San Jose. Will return many times.
