This course needs major work. All of the greens have bare spots and are in need of being rolled to eliminate the many bumps they have. Very, very few of the putts seem to roll smoothly. These are the worst greens in the north Dallas suburbs. The fairways are in need of water and are baked out in many spots. The rough is all burned out and in many places there is just dirt instead of any kind of vegatation. It is a rip-off for them to charge as much as they do when ownership/management don't care about the condition of the course. I will not be back tthere again unless things change.

I highly recommend this course for playability, friendliness of staff and cost. My group plays here almost every weekend because of these things.
Positives: They have tee boxes for every ability level of golfers. The greens run very true and you can get a shot to hold from within 150 yards of the green. The course does not return to the clubhouse after the 9th hole, but they have a snack shack (The Turn) where you can not only get your snack, but also they have golf balls and tees available as well. Located between holes 2/3 and 9/10. Full practice facility completes reasons to play and practice here. Course manager Matt leads a very competent group of staff.
Areas of Improvement: More consistent use of Marshalls to keep pace of play going. Hole #6 could use a little tree removal to keep pace of play up to the rest of the course. Keep the white tees on hole 14 at the upper tee as from the lower tee half of the tee box aims at a large tree less than 50 yards from the tee box.
Highly recommend.
Wow, we are so happy you enjoyed your round, bemavis1! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

I do not recommend this course. It was one of the slowest rounds I've ever played, over 5 hours of waiting on every shot on every hole. No rangers making groups keep moving. Incongruous setup of holes for the handicap base. Played Blue tees with 6317 total yard, but two of four par 5s were 500 yards or less, while 5 or the par 4s were 400 or over including 3 that were 426 or over. The course was not well maintained and all of the tee boxes need to be leveled and resodded. I will not take any more chances with this course.

Very disappointed in the quality of the course. The greens were like concrete and in spots if you putted uphill and didn't reach the hole, your ball would come back at you. The entire course needs to infrastructure work from the repair/replace cart paths to leveling the tee boxes. It also needs a review of the placement of the tee boxes as the length stated from the blue tees (6300+ yards) is misleading. There is a large number of 400+ tee boxes that might as well be par 5s for the average 12 handicap golfer. The only good thing about the play yesterday was that we finished the 18 holes in under 4 hours. For the price charged, the quality was not there. It will be some time before I return. Given that golf rounds are up 20% from last year, it is incomprehensible that the rates would go up so much and so little being done to take care of the course.

Reasonably good course to play. There were no marshalls out on the course keeping play on pace.
The sixth hole needs a re-design to keep the flow of play going as only a perfect tee shot enable the golf to go for the green in two shots. This hole is always congested with two and three groups waiting on the tee box while those playing the hole are either looking for golf balls or hitting punch shots back to the fair so they can hit onto the green.
The sand traps need maintenance desperately. They looked like they hadn't been fully raked in a long time. Several bunkers had about a 1/4 inch of sand in the bottom and then wet hard pack underneath.
Greens need water to help them hold a little better. Very hard and fast with many bumps around the cups. Every cup is on a mound made when the greenskeeper pulls up the grass to make a new cup. They never tamp the new hole down flat, but always leave the cup on a mound.

I have enjoyed this course in the past, however the greens are in extremely poor condition. They totally lack moisture so it is like putting on a wood floor. In many cases, you could putt up hill and if you didn't put the ball in the cup, it would roll back past where you started. Mostly because of the putting conditions, the round took five hours to complete. Watched a number of greens where the groups were hitting four and five putts. Despite all of the early season rain, the remainder of the course is in fair shape. I was completely disappointed and I do not recommend playing there until the problem with the greens has been fixed.

The course is in good shape on the tee boxes and fairways. It is missing a shorter cut of rough surrounding the fairways going immediately from fairway to deep rough. The greens were in poor condition at best. They have not recovered from their most recent aeration. They were very bumpy and many putts bounced off line due to the aeration holes.

This is a very nice course that has some good challenges and a variety of tees for every level of golfer. The greens were a little bumpy, but still relatively fast. I expect them to come around as the weather continues to improve. The remainder of the course is in good early season shape.

I would not recommend this course or any other course that uses 7/8 minute alternating tee times. By the time our 3:45 pm tee time arrived, the first tee was 25 minutes behind schedule. The front nine took over 2:30 minutes and there was no ranger moving groups along. There was even a group with four players that had their children with them and they were giving the children lessons and letting them hit shots as well. These are reasons why golf is losing more players every year, it takes too long. I will not play this course again.

This is an excellent course and the VIP Package is well worth the money. The greens are in need of some work. The most recent aeration has not fully healed on many of the holes. The remainder of the course is in superb condition. I played on a holiday afternoon and was disappointed that the course was not set up for proper pace of play. The tee boxes were not set for the high wind speed and direction and most of the pin placements were on hillsides which leads to many 3 putts. I mention this only because they prescribe to the "Ready Golf" philosophy, yet they didn't set the course to match their own guidelines. I still recommend going and I will go back.
Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course
Played On 03/22/2014Good Course - Needs Better Course Setup Management
Overall Wildhorse at Robson Ranch is a very well designed course with challenges for all levels of golf. However currently the greens are so short and with a lot of wind as was the case in my most recent round, the course as set up was almost impossible to play. The greens needed more water to slow them down. Due to the wind the ball would get blown out of position on any kind of incline without being touched. This was exacerbated by so many of the pin placements being put on side hill or crest of hill positions. If you putted the ball up the hill and didn't reach the cup, it would roll back past where you started from. Unless they put more water on the greens to slow them down, I am unlikely to play there again until the growing season is fully underway. Otherwise everything else about the course and club is first class and the staff treats you very well. It is normally one of my preferred courses.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 5/22/2013Good Course to test your skills on.
This course has five tee boxes to accomodate golfers all all skill levels. The course is well design to allow golfers to have a safe play if they so choose. The greens are coming around. They have no all recovered from the spring aeration, but when they do and they are cut to a shorter level they will be pristine. The fairways are well defined and well maintain. Excellent facilities at the clubhouse.

The greens are awesome, but a little hard. true roll every time and the same from green to green and from one end of the green to the other. Love to play there.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 3/22/2013Not a course to play regularly
I was very disappointed in this course. The greens were in poor condition even considering the time of year. They are cut too short and it is impossible to keep the ball on the green from the fairways, especially in the wind. The hole locations were poor considering windy conditions. They were in areas where it was hard to get the ball near the cup for anyone. The design and layout leave a lot to be desired. The last few holes are very short like they ran out of room to complete the course. The 10th and 11th holes have poor design which causes play to back up on those holes. The water on 10 especially comes into play of the tee so you have to hit a lay up shot and then that puts the water up by the green into play so you have to hit a layup. Very few holes have safe areas that the average golf can lay up to. 11 is an example. It is a par three that is across the creek. The short mowed area to the left and in front of the green is up a hill which causes any shot hit to go downhill and to the left. I will not go back and play the course again.
We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any negative experience you had with our course. We take your concerns seriously and will address the issues with the greens, fairways, and rough to ensure a better golfing experience in the future. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
